This doesn't make sense. She's ending her political career to run for the presidency? I heard about this two hours ago and I haven't been able to figure out her intentions. Her kids are kinda messed up, so maybe she's decided to focus on her life at home. I simply cannot see this helping her politically though. Anyone care to explain?

The timing is odd if she's just gearing up for a 2012 run. Her term would have essentially ended in 2010; she could have just not sought reelection and had ~2 years without any gubernatorial responsibilities. And even if she wants to resign to focus on a run, why would she announce this now, at the beginning of a long weekend, and with no substantive reason why or statements of what she plans to do now?

I would not be surprised if she got caught doing something and is getting out as quickly as she can.

As much of a train wreck she was (I firmly believed McCain would've had a real shot without Palin and her sabotaging blunders down the stretch), Palin has an actual shot at the White House *shrieks of terror ensue*. Obama's poll numbers will continue to slide gradually, as the common idiot will (eventually) see that he is just another politician and not the Savior of America. Wait for it... But THEN, the common idiot may grow SO weary of these broken promises, that they will swing back to the other side slightly, giving Palin and her list of soon-to-be-broken promises life in 2012.

It's a broken system. My vote has the same worth as a high school dropout, a Holocaust denier, or someone who thinks the Earth is only 7000 years old... *shivvers*...

guys... even if she would run for president in 2012 she would have to battle it out with obama who is just as telegenic as she is and a much better speaker. and which young first time voters would actually go with a women that stands for lack of intelligence, outmoded values and hypocrisy?

since 2000 the american electorate is split about even between the 2 big parties, so that the candidates themselves should make the difference - can u imagine a sarah palin convincing more ppl than barack obama? i definitely cant!

That's a dumb move on her part if it really was to vie for the presidency in 2012. First off, Obama has reelection in the bag. Second off, Governor of South Carolina, Mark Sandford refuses to resign after having an affair with a women in Argentina and he's pretty damn interested in the presidency himself.
I bet she's going to have her own show on Fox News now, kinda like Huckabee.
