In sc where you would get about 8 factories and aoe 2 you could/should have double that late game. AOE2 was a good game. Fairly competitive back in 02 I believe. Clan wars and chat rooms that were way better than Starcraft. Zone was replaced by another big server and I'm sure there are still hamachi servers. AOE3 ruined it. The top 1% of good players are still fun to play but the bad... well 4v1s were often fun. And the game has a terrible imbalance. It's slow too because everyone plays on normal speed. Imagine starcraft on slowest. | ||

I have one probably pretty typical and one not-so-typical. Typical - Friend: Starcraft? Dude I havent played that in years. I got into Diablo or something. Me: Yeah, you should check out some of the pro stuff, those guys are insane. Got me back into ladder playing after a 5 year break. Friend: Pro? Me: Yeah, in Korea. I'll show you sometime. Friend: Wait they play it professionally...still? (or) Koreans? Those guys always kicked my ass, no wonder. And the not-so-typical. Girl: What's that? Me: Starcraft. I'm setting up my Fantasy team. Girl: Starcraft? I never actually played that...I might want to try though, it looks like alot of fun. Me: >_> Girl: :D Me: What do you think of my team? Girl: Uhm...I dunno, I like their names. Me: You like sAviOr...he's your favorite right? Girl: Sure! That's so cute that you have a fantasy team for this. And about a week later she and I started going out. Still are! PS: WoW Arena takes quite a bit of skill, for example, countering a 1.5 sec cast time heal may not be too easy, and it has elements of "fog of war" but you hide behind the pillar instead to disallow others to cast spells on you. Definitely requires more than 50 APM, unlike what someone said. But I don't play WoW, my brother does. | ||

i often compare it to sports too, but at the same time, there are no new sports with "cooler graphics" coming out ~ So far no one was able to contest the 'sports' or 'chess' arguement :D Except for that same friend who goes : "Starcraft's graphics sucks Starcraft's graphics sucks Starcraft's graphics sucks Starcraft's graphics sucks" щ(ﾟДﾟщ) I remember my uncle who played SC so often with us baaack then when he was in uni and my 11 year old brother would beat his 13 hatch zerg with mass gateway zealot, up to 7 ( though his secret was to keep pumping probes, no one taught him that), until we discovered an SC guide (the exact same one) in my uncles house several years later in a corner, and we laugh at all the implications we made.
