True, but to be quite honest I could never really get into Dune. I used to play some RPs with a guy who was apeshit over Dune, and that kinda put me off to it. So having never actually read the book, I can't really make a fair judgment.

Its old 50s style with mutants and shit, that's more fantasy than anything. Fallout 1 & 2 suck, the game system was just too terrible. I gave up after like 15 minutes. Never heard of the other ones. If you do not follow fantasy/sci-fi too much (judging on your movie and book selections in the op) then what's the difference? Both should be equally nerdy for you. And about Bioshock being set in the 50's: Sci-fi does not automatically imply any kind of future. There are sci-fi books with action in ancient times, medieval and what not (especially the countless sci-fi set in the WW II reality).

And remember, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, so technically, everything is just a big fantasy.

Scifi is good when there is less pew pew and more interesting thoughts about future or just a plain good story. Pew pew ones are the nerdier ones which are fairly entertaining to watch but still. Cosplay is nerdy what ever which cosplay you do.
