Yeah, Quake3's in there too (but the rest are in plain old FPS).

My list:
1. StarCraft 2. WarCraft II 3. Doom II 4. Quake III 5. TIE-Fighter 6. X-Com: Terror from the Deep 7. Diablo II 8. The Curse of Monkey Island 9. Command & Conquer 10. Duke Nukem 3D
There would of course be other honorable mentions, and list might actually look different if there was more choices, but oh well...

Voted, to make SC win though we should all vote random shitty games from 2-10 that have no chance of winning (Games obviously get points for being anywhere in the top 10). Strategic voting people!

i am in deep shock i cant choose top 10 i simply refuse to vote the games that are listed there made me drift far away wow
edit: bioforge, tycoons, alone in the dark, the settlers, magic carpet, MDK, flashback, little big adventure, full throttle, crusader, lemmings, cannon fodder, fallout, jagged alliance, Z, total annihilation, mech warrior, terminal velocity, pirates, gettysburg, the settlers, UFO/x-com, OMGGGGG THESE ARE ONLY THE FAVORITE ONES THAT I PLAYED NONSTOP
gaming used to be so different before bw. Until 2000-2001 i basically played every more or less major game that came out. Soooo many not even listed there!

1. Half-Life (best online FPS, cool sp, first game i played on PC) 2. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (best sp game ever) 3. Starcraft (kinda sucks) 4. Quake III (vanilla q3 was awesome but cpma was even better) 5. Tribes II (didn't get the attention it deserved, one of best team games) 6. Enemy Territory (just as good as tribes) 7. Fallout (oldscholl ) 8. Gothic (just kicks ass) 9. Oblivion (fucking mainstream compared to TES 3 but still rocks) 10. No One Lives Forever (best sp shooter ever!)

iakNab didn't even include Starcraft in his top 10 list. REDBLUEGREEN says "kinda sucks" and places it at third.

where did i list my top 10? there's over 20 games mentioned in my post, many of them are series/had remakes, with no specific order. There's also a line about how bw changed my "gaming life" Lets just hope you're trying to be cute, which is totally "cool" thing to do

im surprised elder scrolls 4 dint make the list. half life should b on the top 10 also. i dont think ff7 should b called a "pc" game neither cuz it's a port

Im shocked that the editors at PC Gamer put Stacraft so low on their list (# 100 out of 100 actually). Frankly that's insulting an entire country as well as everybody on this forum. Everybody should vote because a boycott wouldn't do anything, although I am kinda disgusted.

My list: 1. Starcraft (Well, duh) 2. SimTower (I have such a crush on simtower. One of the most addicting games ever made. Damn I wish I kept the disk.) 3. Sim City 3000 (Love this game) 4. SimCity 2000 ( Loved this game before I loved 3000) 5. Team Fortress 2 ( Fun) 6. Age of Empires 2: The age of kings (played this game before I played starcraft. Taught me how fun rts games were.) 7.Bioshock (Great until the end) 8. Half Life 2 (Fun but kinda...meh) 9. GTA San Andreas ( Extremely baller) 10. Soldat (really addicting free 2d person shooter)

You say vote for Starcraft? Got it.
Civilization, Simcity, Freelancer, and Mass Effect also definitely deserve my vote.

Starcraft - no explanation needed Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri - I honestly fucking love this game. It's a great game even without other humans (which is what you'll end up with basically all the time). There's a LOT of strategy in the game, but it's different than sc by a lot (especially by being a turn-based strategy game). If starcraft is the best real-time-strategy, I'd say this game is the best turn-based-strategy game, easily as fun/epic as starcraft, but the lack of real competetive human vs human play prevents it from being at the same level as starcraft. Battlefield: 1942 - I love this game. It's fun to mess around in, there's a lot of stuff you can do, no game is exactly the same. Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - I love this game so much. I can't put it into words, but this game is amazing for being a 1 player game. Oblivion - imo doesn't live up to Morrowind, but still is a good game. I feel like they babied Morrowind down too much and threw better graphics on it. Some of the new features are nice, but overall I prefer Morrowind in nearly every aspect. Homeworld - Fun while fairly simple. I love how easy they make it to control units in a completely 3d space environment. Homeworld 2 is ok, but besides the graphics, every change they made was kind of disapointing to me, from what I found. Prince of Persia - I remember loving this game when I played it on my old mac. Counter-Strike: Source - I don't love the game, but it can be fun I guess. Knights of the Old Republic - A great game, but too limited and inflexible imo. Yes, there are lots of different dialogue options, yes there are many quests with atleast two different options to complete each one, but it feels like the same game regardless, the same experience, and the game is just so linear despite giving you moderate freedom over which planets to go to. Same shit on the planets no matter what order you go to them in. Zangband - I've actually never played Zangband, but if Angband was on the list it would be my #2 choice. Zangband is a mod of Angband, but Angband wasn't on the list -_- Angband is quite possibly the greatest rpg ever, imo. No game is remotely the same, and while the gameplay is kind of linear, the immense variety in the monsters, weapons, and dungeons makes up for it. It's so addicting it's ridiculous, a great game. Presumably Zangband follows some of that ._.
Stronghold is a really great game, a real-time strategy game, but it wasn't on the list. I don't know though if I'd have put it on my top 10 had it been there. Stronghold 2 was ok, but just had too much stuff imo. I prefer Stronghold over Stronghold 2 in most aspects.
