You might be able to get a few gouges off, but you're not going to "rip it's eyes out" that easily :/ Its not required to even rip them out, just gouge the hell out of them. scratch up their corneas and such. I really doubt a dog would know what to do other than bite harder and thrash, being very disoriented. as long as it doesn't get the chance to move up to the neck you're not going to die.

Like, fo' real? I'd rather not rely on watching some guy in padding run away from a trained attack dog. I mean, how do we draw the comparison here exactly? A trained dog versus an average human? A trained dog versus any decent MMA fighter? ?

if men have singlehandedly fought off sharks by gouging their eyes, I'm pretty fucking sure you could do it to a dog

Those videos are all well and great, but since none of them resemble the given situation at all, they are irrelevant. The humans aren't fighting back in any of the videos, due to police being present in the first, and the second simply being an overview of how a dog takes down prey.

First of all, you're saying that you can pick a German Shepherd, but not a healthy adult. WHAT? I don't know how people look where you live, but around here an average person is about 1.75-1.80m tall and weigh between 70 and 90 kg. Now the thread says german shepherd. These are dogs used by the police to stop people. They're stronger than your average dog, yet, the human can't even be healthy? I'm 23, about 1.80, 82 kgs, and I'm telling you, if you put me in a cage with a 35kg German Shepherd the dog will die. I have fought off a german shepherd at 16, it trashed my left arm, but it ran away, and I was about 20 kgs lighter. I have seen a guy kill a dog by ripping his jaw off. The guy was taller and probably stronger than I am now, but as he was struggling with the dog on the ground, he managed to get his other hand in the dog's mouth and pry it open, then pulled until it snapped. I was young so my image of this may be distorted, but I'm 100% the dog was dead. I am sure that even with one arm severely damaged I can at least: a) shove a finger in its eye b) drop my whole body on him (just like falling down on a dog-sized cushion) and then try to get on the knees or stomp him to death, or maybe just get my elbow on it's neck. I don't think you can do the dog damage and keep up-right, but at ground level you can overpower a 35 kg animal. I have faced bears in real life, snakes, heck even a wild fucking boar. I don't think you can do much to a wild animal, but I can sure as hell kill a freaking dog. Seriously, you're showing footage of a guy with huge protection getting tripped over and screaming as if he was hurting (though he clearly wasn't) and expect me to think that dogs are oh-so-deadly. You know what? I bet you can put a 25 year young MOTHER in a cage with a dog and her baby. I bet the girl would rip the dog in half before he'd get anywhere near her. If you think humans don't have what it takes to kill something half their size in a life/death situation you're underestimating our whole race. I know people who survived bear attacks with horrible scars, and you're telling me a dog could take me down? Like hell he could. Bring it on.

And even those are trained dogs, theya re trained to immobilize if it were a fighting to death dog he could probably go to your neck (like his instinct tells him, like you can see when they go for hares and other animals) and then you are dead. While I think I'd rather fight a random human than one of the bigger breeds of dogs, I don't think a video of a guy 1) running away, 2) not even TRYING to stand upright, gives us much insight into how a man vs dog fight would go -.-

In a fight, I expect a lion to kill a human ten times out of ten. But that isn't what humans do. We stand 100 yards away in a vehicle that moves faster than the lion, and shoot it with a high-powered rifle. I realize that the situation described in the OP is completely hypothetical...but I would argue that the rules presented are a severe handicap to the human, basically saying "You can't use what makes you human to help you out." If you wanted a more realistic situation, then the person would have access to some sort of bludgeoning weapon (as, it seems to me, bludgeoning weapons would be the most common to find somewhere around you if you're suddenly attacked. I doubt people leave handguns lying around). In that case, the advantage goes even more to the human.

You really think you can endure standing up , with a DOG BITTING YOUR ARM? you will go down to release the pressure If the dog bites your arm, heres the reason you will die: 1) You can't put him in a headlock 2) The dog will not stop, you will lose blood. 3) Even if adrenaline kicks in you still can't do anything, You can't use your legs because the dog is right in your arm. No space for a kick. Maybe punches, but i don't think the dog will stop the bitting.

so this guy my uncle knew was walking down some road with his dog doing army shit or whatever. i was like 13 i cant be expected to remember all the details and military words. this is one of the guys first tours or whatever so he doesnt really know what to expect. well apparently the little kids there liked to try and touch the dogs so the other kids would think theyre cool. so theres some little vietnamese kid hiding in a tunnel under the road waiting for the dog to walk by so he can touch it and run off to tell his friends how much of a badass he is. well the guy hears something and he looks down to see what it is, just in time to see his dog bite the fucking kids head off.
