I was looking for a thread on TL, wanting to complain about the same, and found this one recently posted in. This guy also isn't too happy, and voices most of my issues: I'd add that anonymity isn't just about being your nickname, your online persona, etc., but about safety on the Internet. Youtube is one of the last places I want to use my real name. It can only be more dangerous for minors. This is pretty much R.I.P. Youtube, afai concerned.

I tried joining google+ months ago and it changed and removed my channel layout and made my channel look like a facebook page instead of a gaming channel. And they want you to use your full name as well...... WHAT!

It's like "you wanna use youtube? gotta pay up (g+). So maybe FB will do SOMETHING I think the thing behind this is that is seems legally...grey. From what I've gleaned it seems that Google was getting concerned because G+ was a complete failure and the shareholders were none too pleased. Because of that they've decided to shoehorn youtube users into G+ so that they can present it as a viable product with similar figures to youtube. I'm not a legal expert and I haven't followed up personally on anything of what I've heard others say but it seems like investment fraud. By the way if anyone finds a kickstarter for a new product that functions exactly like the old youtube, lemme know. That's worth sharing.

The only Youtube-thing I can recommend is YouTube Center which allows you to customize it a lot. It's for Firefox and there is a similar thing for Chrome.

Closing your Google Plus account really is the only big way to send Google a message about this. I wasn't using Google Plus AT ALL anyway, so it's no big loss for me.
