Also, for the record, we pay about $90 a month for fibre optic, which includes internet, land line phone, and cable tv. Sick deal.

Sick deal. almost every status display will show 100.0 mbps (mine does at least) when you check it. that's the speed of the ethernet card i believe, not the internet.

Also, for the record, that is not your internet speed, but the speed your card handles. Pretty much every new computer has 100.0 Mbps ethernet card, so that doesn't mean anything. Take the test and see the real speed.

Bench that shit! $90 for internet, phone, and cable is a dream here in Canada... BTW, why do you live in japan if you dont mind me asking?(other than the obv. reasons, hot asian chicks, fast internet, best electronics)

I'm in Canada, and $90/month is almost exactly what I'd pay together for Shaw's high-speed internet and basic cable bundle, plus a regular telephone land line (which, unlike a fiber-optic phone line, will keep working in power outage emergency conditions). My internet is 5 Mbps for $40/month, but I could get 25 Mbps for $100/month or 10 Mbps for $50/month. The upgrade's just not worth it. I don't need to move that much data. Then again, I don't bother with cable, either.

I also think where the test server is makes a difference. I get much higher scores on Japanese ones.
