You can ecall up blizz and they can fix it for you.

Yes phone blizzard as soon as possible to get the character back, there should be support numbers for them on their world of warcraft site , you will need your dads credit card number and username, password and some other stuff to get the character back on the account. So you should go home soon as possible, say sorry etc... , tell him you can fix it and then go on the site , get the number, get his information and get the character back.
Yeah it takes very long to get lvl 70, even longer to get all the good items and money he probably had. Phone Blizzard.

Have your dad call Blizzard, and explain that someone gained access to his account and deleted his characters.
The characters should be restored in a couple of days.

deleting it was retarded, but the people who say anyone should be beaten up for that are at least equally pathetic. not to mention they can probably be restored anyway -.-

LOL, i hope he kicks ur ass, i hate WoW but i would be pissed too

In case your dad hasnt used any third-party progs or is in some other (similar) way known to the gamemasters, there is actually a chance that at least one character will be restored. He will still have to pay his equip he had for reasons of server economics, but otherwise he will have all his items. Still depends on the gamemaster and his mood though.
Thats a one time fool joker from Blizzard btw, if you manage to screw up his account again there wont be another time.

Seriously. You guys are acting like deleting his WOW character is something negative. If this person is an adult and is enraged about the state of his digital wizard alter ego, he should probably be talking to someone. Deleting his character is probably one of the best things that you could have done for him.

Yes, but he didn't delete his dad's character because he was worried about his dad's health. He did it because he was drunk. I think it's fucked up that your dad's mad about such a trivial thing but I think what you did was far more fucked up because you're basically disrespecting him. He probably spent a shitload of time getting those characters so it's basically like a product of hard work. How would you feel if some retarded drunk kid smashed a model you've been working on for months?

It's not about the character, it's about the effort. He needlessly destroyed something his dad has been investing a LOT of time into. It doesn't matter if it's WoW, his car, finishing the basement, or whatever. The fact remains that his dad has spent a lot of hours on something and his son came by and just wiped it all away.
I'd be pissed off too. Even if it is just a video game, you have people with hundreds of days played (100 x 24 hours) invested in their character. That's a lot of effort to just shrug off "because it's a game."

A car and basement are both functional, practical, and can be considered assets. An online wizard is not a practical part of daily life, and i would laugh at someone who considered it an asset.

not an asset
a significant investment of time that the person obviously enjoys

That is not the point. Whether it's practical or non-practical it was something that he invested time into and owned. An artpiece is not functional or practical, so does that mean anyone can disregard the time and effort put into the piece and destroy it behind the artist's back? (No, I am not saying that building up a wow character is like art; I hate wow more than Paris Hilton, but that is not the point, the point is that they are properties of the artist/ wow-player and no one should just destroy their work just because they aren't practical.)
And now for the problem... None of us know your father so why the fuck would you ask us for advice. If your dad is a reasonable human being then the only thing I can think of is to apologize and don't everrrrr say, "What's the big deal? They're only wow characters.." no matter what!
Or you can go for the "I was worried about your health! You're an addict and I feel neglected!" That way, you can get drunk in the future and not have to worry about deleting your dad's wow characters

speak for yourself, you're posting on a sc forum don't even pretend like you haven't put hours into some form of video game

The difference is that you can't type "/played" in BW and see how many days, months, or years you've spent that's come summed up by a win-loss record at the login screen.
It's different with WoW because you have multiple ways of seeing how much time you've wasted.

That's a lot of effort to just shrug off "because it's a game." A car and basement are both functional, practical, and can be considered assets. An online wizard is not a practical part of daily life, and i would laugh at someone who considered it an asset. I can't tell if you're faking stupidity or if you actually have a difficult time grasping such a simple concept. If someone deleted all my d2 chars and broke my cd in 7th grade i would've had a much better social life, and probably better grades.
|
tell your dad he has to get over WoW lol -.-
|
Its really a family matter and I don't think we should speculate on whether he should have deleted the characters or not.
|
Tell father you can probably fix the problem. Pray he still has restore uses. Have it restored. When you have it restored try to take the blame so Blizzard doesn't use up restore(s) on the account. Apologize to father for; anger and stress caused over potential characters lost, time spent without a usable wow account, being a irresponsible drunk kid.
More info on restores
For anyone not very familiar with wow, every account has a limited amount of restore uses. Each restore can be used to recover deleted characters or items. Those restore never refill, once you used them all you can't have anything restored.
That was the hard fact part told by Blizzard, now what is mostly assumed to be true.
I think Blizzard doesn't charge restore if it was their fault or if the account owner had no responsibility in the lost. In this case if your father gave you his account info he is responsible. However none of this really mater if he still has restores he can use.

Oh ok, so because you were too weak willed to deal with a game, his dad is obviously just as sad as you and obviously must have played nonstop 24/7 for days on end. I see now, I see how hours put into a game is not an asset nor valuable in any way. Thanks for the elucidation.

It's not because of a game, it's because of a complete lack of disrespect shown to your own father who has done nothing wrong to you, for no other reason that to impress his little friends. For all of you that fail to see and think it's just about a game, maybe your priorities are the ones that need to be reevaluated.

I like how the two active threads in this forum are both about a parent killing his/her child.

Yea i bet when his dad saw his chars deleted his first thought was "My son sure is disrepectful!" And the kid didn't do it to impress his friends, it was just random drunken semi-revenge.

PM a GameMaster in-game and explain the situation.
They are able to retrieve deleted characters, I know, because my little-brother went deleting my lvl 66 warrior once when he thought he deleted his lvl 12 orc hunter.

tell him you will buy him sc2 for christmas.

Pay for good services to make a like copy of those characters. If nothing else when he reach's for something run.

um, apparently you can recover a deleted account within a certain period if you just request it from blizzard? if that's the case you can just frame it as "i just wanted to show you how powerful your addiction is dad" or some bs

If someone deleted my chars I'd fucking kill you or I'd make life miserable for you for about the same amount of time it cost me to make those chars.. twice. I'd turn into a mushroom cloud laying motherfucker.
This is seriously uncool t_t knowing how much time can go into a proper level 70 char with top notch raid / arena gear -.- .
You'd better contact blizz about it and forget about getting anything nice from your dad for a long while even if you fix it tt.

Dude, it's just onw thing to do... And that is... RUUUN!*sorry for randomness, I thought it would be a bit fun. I guess not -_-

Like I said, the problem isn't that he's doing something that he enjoys, or anything like that. He's clearly heavily addicted to something that is probably making life difficult for his family. This isn't about enjoyment, or time investment, or assets, that's all just excuses and apologizing. He's addicted to an escapist practice, something that's regrettable for a teenager and disturbing for an adult. No amount of "let him do what he wants" changes the fact that adults have responsibilities that kids don't have, and many of those responsibilities are probably being compromised if he really is this desparate in his attatchment to WOW. What he has is essentially a sickness. Maybe deleting his account and having a violent confrontation with his offspring over a computer game will wake him back up to reality.

Your time has been sucked down the worst, most distant drain whether your character gets deleted or not.
|
|
You won´t get it back as it was, when you delete a char and want to get it back you get only lvl 70 char with lvl 1 cloth, you lost all gold and epic gear ^^. If my kids would do that they would not have internet the rest of their days in my house.
|
Well since your dad isnt playing WOW anymore. You will get it in the face. Your mom will get it in the butt. It wont be long before things level out. Besides, you arent a baby. He cant kill you by shaking you violently.
|
You're an hero, son.
Yours are the lulz in eternity. If you can, let someone tape the slaughter.
|
Just log on. Tell a gm (game master) what happened and tehres a 10% chance hell be nice enough ifyou can prove it to retrieve your account. bnut it depends for how long it been delelted
|
Meh, it's a god damn 100% chance that they'll retrieve every god damn character you ask for.
I've retrieved my 66 warrior, as I said before, and several other lowbie chars that I wanted to retrieve.
lvl 45 paladin lvl 51 hunter lvl 29 rogue.. etc..
You log-into your fathers account, pm a gm, simply tell them "I want my char back, because my younger brother went nuts and deleted everyone of them"
However you might not get his GEAR back though, but that can be solved if you call them or contact "higher" support admins.

Killed by WoW-vengeance seeking father.

tbh guys putting hundreds of hours into WoW is as bad as putting hundreds of hours into starcraft or another game, at the end of the day were all just playing a video game, some require different kinds of skills than others, doesnt mean that WoW should be frowned upon, im sure you were addicted to a game once in your life, if not right now to Starcraft.
Anyway good luck mr fatherwanttokillme.

im still not back to my house , he still angry .

Is your dad married? What a stupid reason to kick a son out, a lame way to raise a boy up. Good luck though, how did you get the game master to give back account?
"I was drunk and deleted my dad's account and now he's pissed off and kicked me out of the house." Good reason. And how old are you?

To the best of my knowledge the gold never returns. The items will be mailed to you within 2-3 weeks.

lololol definatly the funniest story ive heard in a while
|
wow. never know blizzard will be willing to do that.
|
dont know if it is mention in previous 9 pages. how the hell you know his password? dipshit dad giving away his password, not knowing this would happen.
|
If post is serious (~5% chance given the moronic stuff that people do these days) 1) Call blizzard, ask them to undelete the characters. Something like that happened between a guild mate and his gf (also a guildie) once. 2) Let your Dad beat you up with a 2 by 4. You deserve it for being a short-sighted retard
If the post is a troll for the "lulz", it is full for aids and fail.

A friend of mine got his gold back. I have no idea how the GMs decide what to restore though. Sometimes they fix everything, sometimes it's just the char or only certain things. I thought i might have something to do with how recently the deletion was, but I have no idea really.
