$XELA will be interesting next week. I don’t think there’s another security that I have had more confidence in. Almost seems too good to be true. I diverted half my portfolio into it, ready to average down the other half if I have to.

Any particular reason why you think it’s good? I’m seeing a small software company with negative earnings. Its price has been reasonably flat all year, but it’s way off its 5 year high.

Something special about its HR outsourcing service it’s releasing?

Nothing new about the fundamentals of the company (that I know of at least). Earnings report comes out the 10th, that’s why I said it’ll be interesting. I’m feeling bullish as I feel this is a good entry point since this has short squeeze potential as well (Im aware HFs manage squeezes a lot better now). But I’m not expecting jackpot either. Idk I just like the stock.

Oof I was finally green in SPCE and forgot to set stop sell. Now I’m eating it hard cause of Morgan Stanley. This stock is so hated lol.

Hold, I once held 100 shares of Virgin Galactic and when it fell below $23, mainly due to the fact it was not known if they would launch any time soon, I sold all of it. Sure enough they soon announced a launch date and only could buy back 55 shares, which I now hold. Regret it ever since.

Keep in mind SPCE moves up and down but also has ties with their sister company Virgin Orbit which can launch satellites. So their success moves SPCE as well. Also why I am not selling #VACQ hopefully soon to be $RKLB

Edit: RIP to those that still hold $HOOD

I’m 100@33.5 with SPCE. I’ve held NIO at worst times but at least I had better confidence in that stock. SPCE is just so hard to get a grip on, that’s why I don’t understand all the bears.

I hold SPCE, but honestly, I think we're about to enter another bear market due to delta variations. What we're seeing here I think is starting to price in the possible shutdown looming. Gotta cash out to get good stuffs later when it dips right? But then you also have inflation, so I feel like cashing out right now isn't even worth it since your dollars are going to be worth less in the long run... Kinda weird spot once again.

I just prefer to buy and hold at this point. Gotta get those avg's better right?

I'd just hold tbh 1)not sure lockdowns will come back 2) not all states will accept lockdowns 3) will sp500 companies really lose profit over lockdowns?

Edit: talking about sp500, not SPCE specifically. Don't know enough about the stock to evaluate particularly. 2020 march panick won't happen again.

Yeah I don't think we will see much more tightening of restrictions anymore. The vaccinated people are only going to be willing to sacrifice so much to protect anti-vaxxers from themselves.

Think this might affect stocks in some way. Seeing how it is the highest increase on record.

Funny, I read an article just this morning that "transitory inflation is finally slowing down." Maybe this is the non-transitory inflation that continues to rage?

The record inflation is 12 month change and July 2020 was a weird time. It is, in part, rebound.

That said, price increases are real. In my view they’re being driven by a combination of supply shortages due to Coronavirus (impacting automobile chips for example) and by cheap credit. The US economy is driven by credit and nominal price isn’t always the best way to measure price.

The most clear example is probably house prices. Let’s say you’re paying $1000/month over 30 years at 4%. The nominal price of the house is $209k. If interest rates drop to 2% the same $1000/month payment would make the house $271k. The functional price of the house, $1000/month for 30 years, is unchanged but the nominal price has gone up 29%.

But this applies to everything when credit is as pervasive as it is in the US. Low interest rates and high availability of credit push up nominal prices, even if supply and demand are unchanged. The $271k house is the same price as the $209k house.

If SPCE goes sub 20 I’ll average down. I’ll be glad to get out of this stock when I can. I’ve been treating it as a long but people just love to meme and pump and dump this one. Market opens 3:30am my time, no fucking thanks.

So on top of selling nearly 100 million shares after its' IPO debut, Robinhood is now warning of trade slowdowns. That is on top of the FBI investigating one of the CEO's and having access to his phone records.

Still hasn't topped its' IPO expected price of, what, 50 bucks?

Bumping this. Why? Virgin Orbit is planning to go public. Virgin Orbit has already had two successful satellite launches.

And bump. I really need somewhere to explain Options to me.

Edit: Also SPCE is tanking on the FAA announcement.

SPCE climbed a healthy 10%+ the last few days and it all dropped in the matter of 30 minutes.

I like to think of it as a string or fuse tied to something (the price) that gets shorter until it hits expiry. The force required to move it into either direction towards another price is your loss/gain.

Leverage used is the elasticity of the string?

I'm not sure how to find an analogy for the price decay, but it's probably something like a half circle area around the end point.

Lotto-y stuff.

I don't know a lot about how options work, but having read this I now somehow know less than I did before.

That New Yorker article yesterday was damning. But RKLB is showing promise.
