Rightwing people are so strange.
I didnt post the YT vids for the thumbnails, get real mate. This is not political in any sense and stop calling me rightwing, you have no proof of that.
If you dont like the content of the videos you dont have to click it nor do you have to comment on how the thumbnails look like, thats just BS arguments just for the sake of discussion.

I am pretty sure that one of the core rules of discussion on this forum is that posting a youtube video and demanding people watch it is not a valid argument. I will not watch random videos you think are important.
And if the Thumbnail has Elon Musk doing a winner pose, Trump looking smug, "MASSIVE WIN" and a bunch of other stupid imagery on it, then yes, i can comment on just how stupid that looks from the thumbnail alone. And if you think that that is a reasonable video that validly explains your position and argument, that alone showcases where you are coming from with much more clarity than any video could. It is also a very clear indication that you are indeed pretty rightwing, because no one who is not crazy rightwing thinks that Trump looking smug is a good person to use in your argument for anything . Trump basically has negative credibility in all but the most crazy rightwing circles.

If you fire most of your staff ofcourse you're going to profit in the short term. It'll take a while before advertisers start really dropping out and for the cracks in the code to become apparent.
Short term profit, long term implosion of the platform seems to be the most likely outcome here.

On top of all that the video is really just speculation based on incomplete analysis of previous year's performance and future projections by Twitter itself (so potentially biased).
Right now all those "massive gains" are entirely in the realm of imagination.
Considering that Twitter has a yearly revenue of $5 billion, operating expenses of $6 billion and now an additional $1 billion of debt on top of that it'll be hard to get it on track. Losing $10 million/day as it stands and has been in the black only twice in the past 10 years (covid helped with that but this surge is over now and a lot of companies are now reporting massive losses in revenue going down from the lockdown high).
Speaking of which, something must've gone terribly wrong at Twitter between 2019 and 2020... $2.9b revenue -> $1.4b profit in 2019. $3.2b revenue -> $1.1b loss in 2020. This would imply that operating expenses went from $1.5b to $4.3b within a year.
Edit:
There's also that...
After some abrupt changes introduced by Musk at Twitter the company may be facing fines reaching billions of dollars for violating agreements with the FTC.

YouTube videos are like people shouting their thoughts at strangers in the town square, you can basically tell the quality of their thoughts from their presentation. Doesn’t matter whether or not you agree with the basic premise, you should no more listen to an idiot shouting things you agree with than one you disagree with.
If Manit0u was right the compelling evidence that he was right wouldn’t be in a YouTube video.

It is also a very clear indication that you are indeed pretty rightwing, because no one who is not crazy rightwing thinks that Trump looking smug is a good person to use in your argument for anything . Trump basically has negative credibility in all but the most crazy rightwing circles.
The thumbnails could just as well been black and you would have commented anyway Lul. You just have nothing fancy to say and thats a shame.
Keep being "that guy" it suits you. If you wanna be blind to whats going on thats your choice.
Oh and i never told you to watch any vids, but you assume so, clear difference.
If you post videos in lieu of making actual points, then yes you are.
And as Simberto pointed out, that's not how it works here. If you're going to post videos you add a summary what they're saying and why it's relevant.
This whole conversation started from someone posting a video of an Elon Musk hit-piece video without any context. But literally nobody took issue with that so-called rule violation. How surprising.
I see your schtick of ignoring context and misrepresenting what's going on isn't restricted to just the Covid thread.
There is a massive difference between 'just' posting a video, that isn't being used as some kind of support for an argument one way or another, and what MeSaber did. If you post videos because they make your argument for you, you summarize the important points of said video and/or why it's relevant. If you're just posting a video it would still be nice to summarize ofcourse, but it's far less necessary because nobody has to watch the video to keep up with the conversation that's being had.

Yeah, i don't think i am interested in talking to you anymore. This is not fruitful.
"I can tell everything I need to know about you from the thumbnail of a video that I'm not even going to watch." Also "This is not fruitful."
Yeah, no kidding. Ranting about the thumbnail of a video that you won't even watch and labeling the guy a right-winger doesn't really show any interest in a conversation in the first place.

Manit0u was not 'just' posting a video that wasn't used as some some kind of support for an argument. He was clearing making the argument that Elon Musk is some kind of charlatan and posted the video as his sole point. How is that not obvious for you?
It's universally understood that when you post a video or source you summarize what it contains. That's not something that applies to videos posted mid-conversation and not to videos that begin conversations. That's something you just made up.

I watched the "Cult of Musk" video too, and yes, that one had both a strange thumbnail, the post lacked a summary and was indeed a "hit-piece". It seemed pretty well researched, though, so a summary would have been nice if the poster expected it to be a key part of future conversation.
I don't think Musk would have survived this long in the spotlight if he were a SBF type of fraudster, but that he hypes up whatever can make him money regardless of substance and cares only about himself should be obvious too.
I watched the Law video too. Musk seems to have gotten in way above his head...

It's actually the Quartering reading out someone else's twitter thread that breaks down to "Musk fired 70% of the staff, they were all useless anyway and so he made Twitter more profitable than Google and Apple". Which is the take of a 3-year old.
