yeah but they always have 0 posts at the time they start posting in this thread, which makes it seem like they registered for this thread lol

It's always perplexed me too, because they are clearly here just to unload on the Pol threads without a single post on the gaming side. Even their IDs are clearly made just to comment on politics. Beyond the usual suspects, maybe political action groups found video game forums a ripe field for debate.

A legend in his own time, going all the way down the Jordan Peterson rabbit hole into overt racism and rage against the monolith that is The Left.

Any mods feel like commenting on whether these are ban dodgers or just randoms searching "politics thread gaming" or something?

Scott Walker has an ad out today saying how important the pre-existing conditions protections are, while his AG is supporting a lawsuit trying to end those protections. Politicians are known for lying, but this shit is unreal.

I have the distinct feeling politicians just don't give a damn anymore, in the US or over here in Europe. Nobody's accountable for anything, blame gets shifted left right and center.
No wonder populists with easy answers and the mirage if a moral code are so popular :/
The latest Last Week Tonight episode had a clip of Trump saying something like that even if SA murdered Kashoggi he wouldn't stop selling them weapons because look at how much money they bring. It's this for real or out of context? I'm never really sure with that show.

But also said there would be serious consequences if it turned out to be SA who did it, whatever that means.
But it doesn’t help that we have no ambassador to SA and the primary point of contact for SA is the president’s son in law who’s family is deep in debt.

Honestly, I would not cancel a billion dollar contract over a murder either. Especially since there are other people willing to sell to SA.

I'm in agreement with whoever said this is the dumbest "story" ever, but this is definitely damaging Warren's support from anyone who liked Warren because they believed she had any integrity as a politician.
TIL I am more black than Warren is Native American. Oh the missed opportunities...

What opportunities did Warren take advantage of? From what I've heard so far, she didn't really benefit in the one or two places where she indicated that she was also Native American. Also, what is the threshold for whether she was honest or had no integrity?

How many murders would you cancel the contract over?
That's not even hyperbole, it's a legitimate question to ask given Yemen.

Stormy Daniels has to pay Trumps legal fees. Which means the people who donated to her gofundme for her legal fees are literally paying Trump. He just keeps winning.

Well I guess I'm here wondering how something can be the dumbest story ever on one hand, but also be serious enough to render that person void of any credibility on the other. In what way does this matter that much? Because Trump kept grilling her on it? I had to search for some time to find anything that wasn't just people jeering each other over it like idiots. It's nonsense.

I guess? The defamation side was a stretch since its hard to prove. Doesn't have anything to do with her other pending main case against him.

The appeal goes to the 9th Circuit which doesn't exactly love Trump so don't count Avenatti out yet.
Also the case ultimately resulted in Michael Cohen pleading guilty to a crime while all but naming Trump as complicit. As well as the release of Cohen's tape, etc. I don't believe the feds would have been investigating Cohen were it not for Stormy Daniels' public disclosure of the hush money payment. Not only that but the feds are now investigating the Trump Organization in connection with the hush money. And that is where the real Trump crimes lie (read: tax evasion).

I actually have to side with MAGA MAN on this one. Identity police are so bullshit. There should be no shame, pride or privilege based on how you were born.
I love taking every advantage the left will give me for being a minority. You guys have no idea how much I've gotten away with when I tell people that I'm a transgender half black, half First Nations, half white male. Take advantage of the affirmative action, use any bathroom, you get to accuse others of cultural appropriation, use racial jokes and slurs or hang out in any clique.
Race and gender are social constucts that must be mocked, taken advantage of then hopefully discarded. Warren is way ahead of the game on this one.
Anecdotally, I met my first legit Canadian Trump supporter today. It seems like I have to spend an inordinate amount of time unravelling the crazy to even converse with him. How do you guys deal with so many of them down there?

How do you guys deal with so many of them down there? Except there is, and I can guarantee you it's not because the minorities are making it that way. A person's existence isn't political until someone makes it political. Telling people they can't love who they really want to, telling them their real identity is unacceptable, pulling them over and shooting them for no reason, denying PoC their voting rights indefinitely, and for no reason, those are people telling you how to be, and what you can't do, when all you wanted to do is be who you are and do whatever you were doing. That's them making it political. Are you sure you really want to argue it's worth the perk of using a certain bathroom or making a certain kind of joke?
The unpleasant reality is yes, these things are political. But they don't stop being that way until we acknowledge it collectively and address it. Really, it may never go away completely. But it's not the fault of the people who catch shit from day 1 for being different.
