Ignoring the fact that there are other allegations against the man, Maryland has no statute of limitations on rape. If these two men go down as the men who took part in Ford's situation, then the Republican Party can very well let Maryland know that they have a potential rape situation on their hands that they might want to deal with.

This should be interesting indeed.

Can Trump pardon them?

But I tought all vicitims should be believed! What do they have to gain?
Why ask for evidence when we have their testimonies.

The victims in this case that are being taken seriously used their full names and released them to the public. We should hold these two potential criminals to the same standard.

First of all, they're not victims. They're the potential perpetrators.
Second of all, it assumes that Ford can't remember one man from another.
Third of all, Maryland has no statute of limitations. The Republican Party know who these people are, are they going to be reported to the Maryland authorities? Because there's a possible rape situation that might want to be dealt with by the authorities.
Fourth of all, these people are anonymous. Making up anonymous sources to muddy the waters isn't new, Project Veritas paid a woman to lie about a Roy Moore situation to try and discredit the Washington Post. Like I said, if these people want to expose themselves they're very welcome to do so. Maryland might want to know about this situation after all.

Just busting your collective balls with the same phrasing. Maybe they have a concious and felt guilty about an innocent man being smeared!?
They did provide written testimonies and are being investigated as we speak, we will know about them soon enough. I won't draw any conclusions either way before knowing more.

Then Ford is mistaken and Republican Party can go tell Maryland about the situation. One where two separate unrelated men both think they might be Kavanaugh's doppelganger.
Which still doesn't erase the existence of the other separate allegations against Kavanaugh.

I still want to know about the 200k in credit card debt for “baseball trickets”. Because people have done that math and it’s a crazy amount of baseball tickets.

Hearing is about to start (YouTube live for livestream). Looks like she showed up in the end. The next 24h, between this, Rosenstein, and the vote tomorrow, are going to be historic.
|
It seemed more likely than not she would show, once you factor in that she has less than no reason to make her travel plans public, on account of the death threats, and people looking for every reason to call her a liar. In any case... buckle up.

Rosenstein meeting is likely off. It wasn’t on the president’s schedule this morning.

5mins of questioning from each Senator after an opening statement from each key person (Ford and Kavanaugh). Most, if not all, of the Republicans time will be used by the prosecutor Rachel Mitchell.

The senators who have been the most demanding of Ford won’t be questioning her, while the Democrats will be speaking to her directly, asking questions. I can’t help but feel it is going to make the Republican’s look chicken shit.
|
It's worth noting that Mitchell normally is on the side of the accuser and cross examines accused. This is a change for her and I wonder if it will show in her questions. Further, multiple Dems on this committee are ex-prosecutors themselves. I imagine they will go hard on Kavanaugh when the time comes, if only for political points.
|
Grassley opens up by saying he was a safe and civil hearing for Ford and Kavanaugh, then goes directly into defending Kavanaugh and bashing the Democrats. I think Grassley has a basic misunderstanding of civility.

It's very interesting that they're straight up claiming they attempted rape. Makes me wonder if this is being misreported.
I mean, they could have simply claimed that they were indeed involved with Ford that night but that her recollection was faulty and that it wasn't attempted rape. Wouldn't this have the same effect?
|
LOL @ Grassley saying they will consider the other 2 accusations at another time. It's not like the vote is planned for tomorrow or anything.
