Either you think it should be investigated, or you think it shouldn't be investigated - the latter being equal to calling them liars, so just do it directly. In regards to "it's so long ago, who gives a shit" - might want to call 999-JAILBEHERE and ask for Bill Cosby.
Sidenote, i loved reading that "conservative" ranting about UK free speech laws, when 99% of republicans were moronically screeching for jail sentences for people who burned the US flag. Including every single one here.
Hold on there. There's too much hot garbage flying through here right now to respond with limited time, but where on earth you come up with that last claim about flag burning I have no idea. I do not advocate jail sentances for flag burning, and I dare you find somewhere that I did.
And not a single person seemed to dispute this. Good stuff.

Very few people in the US want to see flag burning turned into a criminal offense, Republican or otherwise.

I assume that was sarcastic, though sometimes you have to take the freebies to remind people that they are actually freebies.

FYI Grassley said the hearing is still on tomorrow. Also, the vote for Friday has yet to be canceled. So I guess we'll get these old fucks on record being terrible, which is something.

Sometimes people use a bit of hyperbole to emphasize the point they are trying to make, with varying levels of success. In the matter at hand, m4ini is responding to the ham fisted attempt to depict the UK as this authoritarian state of repressed speech from earlier today; in which the poster lacked basic knowledge about the UK and what makes up an authoritarian state.

ok this is easy enough. They gave notice of a vote. Rules require 3 days notice, that's why Grassley did that. If Ford doesn't appear they go on. They did not officially call the vote, as I understand it.

There are new allegations today that are far more serious, were signed under oath and were made by an federal attorney. I doubt they are going to charge forward even if Ford does not appear.

They have said they won't release her medical records. Which I think is fair, people don't need their therapy notes gone through with the intent of proving her wrong. I'm sure there must be a way to prove/disprove that she said this without opening up her medical records. Show nested quote +Ford's lawyers provide polygraph report to Senate Judiciary Committee From CNN's Phil Mattingly
Debra Katz and Lisa Banks, attorney's for Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, have sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee staff that contains Ford's polygraph test results showing the probability that she is being deceptive in her accusations was revealed to be close to zero in three separate tests.
The lawyers also say in the letter they won’t provide Ford’s medical records to the committee.
Sure, release whatever bullshit she wants. But she better still show up. I am still not convinced she is going to show up.

Lol ok let's just ignore the other two women then. Not like they could possibly justify announcing that the vote wont be able to happen in light of the other women's accusations. Maybe they are afraid more women will come out.
Apparently Kavanaugh denied Swetnicks accusations under oath himself. So now we have 2 employees of the federal government accusing each other of crimes (one for sexual misconduct and the other for lying under oath) under threat of perjury. Sounds to me like good cause to slow things down.

So what you're saying is we need a complete and utter shutdown till we can figure out what the hell is going on.

If there was a legitimate rape the legislative body has ways of shutting this all down.

Trump is giving a live press conference right now. He is expected to talk about both Rosenstein and Kavanaugh after he gets past all the economic hyperbole.
Edit: LOL Trump just said he doesn't know why Obama left so many judgeships open when he left office. Said he assumes he must have been tired. Nobody is this stupid, are they?
Also, Acosta is annoying.

There is a section of the population that is that stupid and has no concept of civics or government. But they alone cannot win elections. But they do sometimes bomb into this thread with some amazingly misinformed posting.

God our reporters suck. No wonder he gets away with so much.

Complete trash.

Couple good questions, but Trump is staying relatively in control. But also lying his ass off and its hard to fact check in these sessions.

Why the fuck is no one asking why he won't let the other women speak??
