Either Trump has become aware of something that necessitates him trying to end the investigation immediately, despite the backlash the Republicans will face on the ballot, or he has simply reached the limit of his patience. Bill Shine acting and Hannity's messaging are telling. And it works because now he can credibly say that Rosenstein is working against him, and will likely even refer to him as part of the "Deep State". His shrinking but ever-present base will eat this up. As I was told the other day: Republican voters are like mushrooms. Feed them shit and keep them in the dark.

What about all that evidence they already have? I imagine at this point the evidence is so extensive even sections of the IC would split off to pursue it further. This can't get put back in the bottle.

https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/politics/a23363905/president-trump-declassify-russia-probe-documents/ Because they found the one they needed in McCabe's stuff and gave it to the NYT. Hence today's Rosenstein news. What do you guys think? Am I off in crazy land? It seems like it could have been that Trump was going to declassify everything, his allies in the DOJ/FBI found this nugget, and then they called off the declassification because they had what they wanted.

I don't think he initially knew what was even in them, but when his allies took a look at them they panicked. I think he got a bunch of phone calls that were something like "bro, not only do these documents not help you if made public, but we think they show that you are in very big trouble". Maybe I'm wrong, but that paired with the Rosenstein thing, Manafort, and Cohen makes me think it may be sinking in that he is in very deep shit. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/trump-walks-back-his-plan-to-declassify-russia-probe-documents/2018/09/21/79d95f94-bdac-11e8-8792-78719177250f_story.html?utm_term=.a26ee75e9132 To add fuel to the conspiracy, just yesterday it was reported that Cohen has spoken extensively with Mueller's team in recent weeks, about their business dealings with Russia & the campaign.

Hate to break it to you, but some dude winning a state Senate seat does not reflect on the President. But hey, if you wanna play that game, we can play that game. Here's a starter for you: "Republicans Lost Support in Every Special Election Since Trump Became President" https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/04/25/us/politics/special-election-results-shift-democratic.html "A new CNN poll found Trump's approval rating to be just 36% and put his approval among independents at 31%, a new low and down all the way from 47% last month. Recent reports have suggested independents could make up as much as 30% of the electorate in the November midterms, meaning they could make or break the GOP's grip on its congressional majorities. A separate poll from Quinnipiac University, also released Monday, found Trump's approval rating to be 38% and found 54% of American voters disapproved of the job he's doing. It also found just 36% of independent voters approved of Trump." https://www.businessinsider.com/polls-trump-approval-rating-midterm-elections-2018-9 "President Trump's approval falls in new Minnesota Poll" "President Donald Trump’s popularity is on the decline in Minnesota, according to a new Star Tribune/MPR News Minnesota Poll that shows a majority of likely voters disapprove of his job performance. Statewide, 56 percent disapprove of Trump, while 39 percent approve. The Republican president remains popular with his base, with 95 percent of Republicans in support, along with 86 percent of those who voted for him in 2016." http://www.startribune.com/trump-approval-falls-in-new-minnesota-poll/493794201/ "Donald Trump approval rating dips in Florida" "A Florida Atlantic University poll released Wednesday found 39 percent of the state’s voters approve and 47 percent disapprove of Trump’s performance, a net negative of 8 percentage points. Just four weeks ago, Trump’s standing was better. An Aug. 21 FAU poll found 43 percent of the state’s voters approved and 45 percent disapproved of Trump’s performance, a net negative of 2 percentage points." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/politics/fl-ne-trump-approval-florida-fau-poll-september-20180918-story.html I see your silly state Senate seat, and raise you some U.S. Senate seats. "Another person at the meeting, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, insisted the recording comment was said in a moment of sarcasm, and that the 25th amendment was not discussed. That person said the wire comment came in response to McCabe’s own pushing for the Justice Department to open an investigation into the president. To that, Rosenstein responded with what this person described as a sarcastic comment along the lines of, “What do you want to do, Andy, wire the president?” THIS LEAK IS AN ORCHESTRATED DISTRACTION FROM KAVANAUGH. It’s going to work. 100%.

OK. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/09/20/texas-republican-wins-state-senate-race-in-district-held-by-democrats-for-139-years.html State senate seat special election win and the 19th district became less packed in 2010 when they redistricted. Given how much the article talks about black and hispanic demographics in that district it be far more interesting if they actually had voter demographics. Texas has pretty terrible voter turnout to begin with, even on presidential years they hover around 50%, dips well at or below 30% in non presidential years let alone a special election. http://www.electproject.org/2016g http://www.electproject.org/2014g http://www.electproject.org/2012g http://www.electproject.org/2010g 26,077 voted initally https://enrpages.sos.state.tx.us/public/jul31_330_state.htm?x=0&y=0&id=273 44,487 voted in the run off https://enrpages.sos.state.tx.us/public/sep18_332_state.htm?x=0&y=0&id=170 241,627 voted in 2016 for that district https://elections.sos.state.tx.us/elchist319_state.htm The district has somewhere near 811,147 people in it. That would place voter turnout around 9% assuming around 51% voter turnout from 2016 (the state avg from 2016) without additional information specific to that district

How can anybody argue that this is anything more than a stalling tactic now? Seems like they're voting on Monday regardless, hopefully Kavanaugh can get approved and we can leave this ridiculous saga behind us. Re : Texas state senate seat won by republicans - New Voter ID laws likely played a role regarding lower turnout rates for Dems.Good move, seems fair that photo ID should be required to vote. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-texas-voters/u-s-appeals-court-upholds-texas-voter-id-law-allows-it-to-take-effect-idUSKBN1HY31U
