I’m sorry but I find this overly simplistic, in the hypothetical world where every single person voted Democrats probably do win, but just blaming people for not voting isn’t an effective analysis of Democrats failure in the last election.
Fascism has been built up to through decades of neglect and the consequences of letting capitalism run amok. Allowing housing to become a commodity instead of a human necessity, the dire abuses of capitalist run healthcare and the perverse incentives that lead to tons of suffering and death, letting corporations act as people when it comes to campaign donations, the road was paved for fascism by capitalistic excess and Democrats dont get to say that they didn’t have a hand in it.
US politics has had a deep, vicious rot that’s been cultivated by both parties and while Republicans are worse they are not solely responsible for it.
Democrats would do better in elections if they were perceived to actually wield power effectively for the average person, and they actually followed through on that perception.
Half measures and adequate (by the standards of comparing to Republicans which is a disastrously low bar) governance were simply not enough to make the average American feel like their lives weren’t being degraded, and Democrats spent too long pivoting to the right for no gain and chiding people for wanting them to do better.
If there’s any electoral path forward it starts with Democrats doing better and there is simply no instance of them doing anything but trying to commit to their Business as Usual Bullshit. Even immediately post election the Harris campaign refused to admit they did anything wrong which is asinine given they sidelined Walz for the fucking Cheneys.
Democrats are too incompetent and out of touch to be an effective opposition in the US.

The core issue of the left in general is purity testing.
The core issue of the American Democratic party is that they aren't really left, they are, of course, when compared to Republicans, but it's very clear from the way they function that they are mostly a corporatist centrist party.
The core issue of American politics is the two party system where the options are an outwardly fascist corporatist party and a some times left leaning (on social and identity issues mostly) corporatist party.
The problem with all that was not as noticeable because Republicans couldn't scratch enough charisma to pretend to be populist, then Trump came along and Democrats are completely unwilling and unable to try and do the same, because it would mean pissing off their donors.
I will never forget a quote I heard from a NYT journalist during the 3 weeks between Biden's debate performance and him stepping down, he was talking to members of Senate and Congress on the Democratic side and basically said the sentiment is that yeah, Trump will win, but he's good for fundraising and it's only 4 years.
When he inevitably starts throwing his political opponents to jail, I hope those guys will be the first to go, but more realistically those are the ones that vote for his nominees so they might just jump ship.
