Maybe this thread (or the internet) is not a good example because emotions are high, but the disdain for people who don't vote the way they do is quite pronounced and part of the problem they have I think. "Why do they vote against their own interests?!!" because they can tell you hate them. idk

It really isn't when viewed through the lens of the lives they lead and how scared they are to be themselves in public. What you said was offensive, but not wrong in the political discourse of things. It should be looked at as a cause. But you have to remember, these are lives and people actually value those lives.

The problem is you are forcing your point of view of how people should live when it doesn't [b]affect[b] you. That's the issue that Rs continually miss. A lot of laws are there to just stop hatred but Rs fight against letting people just live.

Bolded is where you inserted your views. I'm fairly normal and I think trans people should be left to their own devices. Not legistlated out of existence or refused healthcare. What normal people think is inconsequential to what trans people want. So "normies" don't have a say in that and shouldn't vote on those issues that don't affect them, just because they find it "weird".

Well that ends my coverage considering Rust Belt and AZ are gonna take days to count their votes. Really feels like 2016 all over again. Pretty significant red wave for the presidency and the Selzer poll being off by so much really left a sour taste in my mouth.
It's not entirely over yet, there's some some comeback potential for Harris but she needs to run the gauntlet in the Rust Belt to win, sort of like how Biden did when things didn't look good for him. But we'll pretty much know by tomorrow morning.

No it isn't. Lord knows I hate the Democrats, and I'm definitely feeling every bit of that hate right about now. It isn't enough that they aren't the Republicans. When that's the best thing they have going for themselves they are in trouble, we've known that's the case for the last 40 years.

This is about as close to a landslide Trump could get, and a catastrophe for Democrats. Trump's outpacing most of his past performances, gaining heavily with minorities, and cutting notably into blue states that may even flip or be perilously close to going red.
Trump's going to likely have a trifecta and a SCOTUS going his way. This is the potential to utterly redefine and reshape America once more.

I hope going forward Democrats commit to trying to attract Republicans to vote for them, because if theres one thing we can say for certain, its that Republicans are super principled and keen and are totally willing to vote for Democrats if you just give them a little more of what they say they want. Its been such a stellar strategy.
