What about contraception being on the table? They said there will be a ruling during the next terms. Who in their right mind wants to live in a world where contraceptives are forbidden?
No one in their right mind. You have ignore way to many facts, history and reality. It also really makes you wonder what comes next. Is it interracial marriage? Is it bringing back witch trials. I get this sounds extreme, but getting rid of contraception is pretty damn extreme. Too many white nationalist types fantasise over Azn waifus for interracial marriage bans to be a remotely political tenable proposition.
Most people like to fuck, including conservative blokes. I can’t see contraceptives being on the table realistically. Speaking more nationally, maybe in some absolute Bible Belt locales.
Gay marriage, maybe. Same-sex adoption I’d say considerably more likely.
As many anti-trans measures as humanly possible? Basically 100%

Plessy v Ferguson is next.

I call them 4chan nihilists. There will be a point in time when they realise whom they've gotten into bed with. It's all fun and games to bathe in liberal tears over the last outrage or about the Boeberts or Greens in this world, but eventually them and their family will have to live in it.

Oh they realise they just don’t care. They spend half of their online energy arguing they’re not right wing, they just align with the right on everything.
Just so happens they usually are straight white dudes, the absolute last group to be affected by discriminatory laws.
They profoundly suck, so, so much, that I almost wish such discriminatory laws did extend to them.
At least conservatives have some underlying, albeit misguided views. These folks play politics for the sake of nihilistic amusement when it encompasses real oppression of others.

A tweet thread about potential GOP plans to steal elections in the future via the courts.
https://twitter.com/thom_hartmann/status/1543079225254559744?s=21&t=bmXIdH-Tnxzh-obOUwR07g
Basic ass summary:
State legislatures say fuck the vote and just hand their electors to their candidate of choice, and it’s all theoretically constitutional. Oh and any protests inspired by this are obviously used to announce a state of emergency and future elections suspended and such.
Not democratic in any way obviously, but the US is hardly a real democracy anyways lol.
Real curious to see if they’ll blow their load and try this in 2024.

Oh they'll do it. And they'll say they're letting the states decide.

If such a thing would happen, I'll be the first to formally welcome the US to latin america

Probably the more fascistic one

Are conservatives still trying to hide behind the technicalities and legalities of their actions? Is it enough to point out to them that this was 100% predictable and indeed predicted?
Is this still a positive outcome for y'all on the right? State's rights and whatnot, yeah?
Imagine having a 10 year-old daughter, and finding out that not only was she raped, and that she's pregnant, you also learn that the state is forcing her to stay pregnant. Would you tell her tough shit, all life is sacred, this is God's will, get over it? Or would you feel disgust and horror at what is a deeply fucked up situation that's going to scar your family forever?
Nah, couldn't be. Gotta be the God's will thing.

Nah, couldn't be. Gotta be the God's will thing. If it happened to me I'd seriously consider getting myself an organized militia and heading on up to the Supreme Court.
Mind you, I'm now waiting for the Fox News headline telling us the girl was a slut and is only in it for the press attention and money.

Nah, couldn't be. Gotta be the God's will thing. They legit don't give a shit. Filling twitter with the suffering as a result of the ban on abortion is not going to change a single person that is ok with the decision.

I don't know if anyone's really said it but Christians in the US are always bitching and whining that Christianity is under attack. Well its not under attack enough. Personally I think its time for a political war against Christianity to try and eradicate it as far as possible. Maybe then they'll learn not to try and enforce their backward medieval nonsense on the part of the population that has brain.

The intention is rather to fire up the vast majority which is against this ban. This is not a winnig case for the GOP, in fact, they would probably benefit more from not winning and rather keep using it as a voter-bait of their own, without the responsibility of the awful consequences.
Oh, and abortion bans DO affect straight males... when they are stuck 1000s for the kids they left to their ex-inlaws through their 20s and 30s. This is mostly about christians organized in nucleus families feeling good about themselves.
I also keep thinking that abortion is one of the key reasons why Hispanics in the south are not DEM leaning, Latin American countries have many of the most restrictive laws in the world.

I think the core problem is the US brand of christianity, which is pretty unique. Here in Germany, most christians think "I believe X, therefore i do Y". In the US, the common principle seems to be "I believe X, therefore you should do Y, and i should do my best to force you to do so."
Which is an incredibly toxic thing and needs to be eradicated indeed.

Yeah I agree with this. Obviously I have no problem with anyone following whatever religion they want, but Christianity in the US is a political movement as much as it is a religion, and I guess its the political side that really needs to die.
