Sorry. I digress. That's still good news. Alabama has been a core state among the cadre that are looking to take peoples' rights away. Seeing a ruling coming out in favor of would-be victims is good.

lol. This can't be real. Roger Stone's grift continues “There is a satanic portal above the WH, you can see it day and night .. it must be closed, and it will be closed by prayer .. It popped up when Joe Biden became president, and it will be closed before he leaves.” Can everyone just send your republican family members this video

Probably due to the previous cousin face fucking scandal, given the margin wasn't super wide. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/17/us/politics/madison-cawthorn-concedes-nc-primary-gop.html And John Fetterman won his primary in Pennsylvania for Senate. Hopefully he can win the general. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/05/17/john-fetterman-pennsylvania-primary/

People are excited to vote for candidates who are willing to fight to do some good, much more than they are to hold their nose and vote for someone who will merely not do the bad thing. Their heuristic for electability is outdated to hell, and they need to recognize that real bad. Also I'm anecdotally seeing some more centrist conservatives say they'd rather vote for Fetterman, with how extreme the Republicans are getting lately. I've been burnt before, but there's some room for hope.

Just hoping they can get the enthusiasm of young voters replicated with independents And this is also anecdotal, but my parents and grandparents are all conservative to some degree and they voted Trump in 2016, but after talking to them about how bad the GOP is to trans people, they all said they're not going to vote GOP because "they're no longer small government". Won't vote Dem either, but that's probably the best I could do

We can't just pat ourselves for having candidates we like running if those candidates go on to lose. This is a great test and I hope the progressive win every race. But we have had instances in the past where extremely flawed progressives don't do so well and people look for silly excuses for how/why things turned out the way they did. We have examples of progressives doing well and also progressives doing poorly. It is important to learn from both.

But all states listed above are swing states, and given the normal turn toward the out party and Biden's horrific approvals, even mediocre candidates (like Oz) should be favored, and bad ones have a chance. Also interested to see what happens in OR.
