The only question is if they have enough to incriminate others to be worth a plea deal.

Held on charges for campaign finance fraud? Looks like another episode of: very cool and very legal. I guess it's time to call Manafort in prison again to redefine strategy. At least the swamp has been drained.

Several common Fox hosts/guests/analysts have been openly critical of Trump's handling of both this Turkey stuff and the impeachment stuff. Hannity himself even criticized Trump's Ukraine phone call and said it was unacceptable. Fox News didn't support Trump until after he won the nomination. It was only closer to the election that they went all-in on backing him and being explicitly pro-Trump. I could see there being a point where they go back to just backing the GOP but not Trump himself if things get ugly enough.

Pat Robertson recently openly criticized Trump's decision to abandon the Kurds on his show. This would have sunk any other president.

But fox turning on him is very encouraging. There may actually be a limit out there somewhere.

Which happens to be the home of Dmytri Firtash who is Lyovochkin's business partner, the guy that funneled money to Trumps inaugural in addition to receiving Trump polling data by Manafort. Obviously all just a coincidence, nothing to see here.

Having the Kurds assist is the most politically sensible decision. It involves a group which is trusted by the local populace, shares the same values as the foreign power (US), and a common goal (fight ISIS). It's the cheapest investment to achieve power in the region. If this doesn't get reversed in the next few days, I'd expect the GOP to fully break with Trump on Syria. It was just a braindead decision by Trump I still firmly believe that if Democrats win in 2020, the world will be like: "So, that was fucked, but if you make systematic changes to make your system less volatile, we're cool", everyone will move on and clean up the pieces. Some damage can't be undone, but Trump is so unique that I don't think it is difficult for people to understand Warren/Biden/Sanders would immediately cancel tariffs and stuff like that. Trump is weird. No one else is. If we are able to show the world we learned from our mistakes, I really think we'll be welcomed back.

We'll apologize, fix some things, but at the end of the day, we'll elect another trumpian person that'll isolate us and we'll have to start all over again.
