He thinks Harris had "the best opening so far" + Show Spoiler + Watching the emerging Democratic field, Mr. Trump said the opposition party has “really drifted far left,” and he derided Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts as damaged while expressing admiration for the campaign kickoff of Senator Kamala Harris of California, who drew thousands of supporters. “I would say the best opening so far would be Kamala Harris,” he said, pronouncing it “Kameela.” “I would say in terms of the opening act, I would say, would be her.” He added, “A better crowd — better crowd, better enthusiasm.” The intelligence chiefs who contradicted him said to Trump they were misunderstood by the media (even though they spoke publicly and were quoted directly?) + Show Spoiler + On another point of contention, the president noted that he summoned his intelligence chiefs, including Dan Coats, the national intelligence director, to the White House on Thursday because he had heard they had contradicted his foreign policy during testimony this week to Congress. Mr. Coats and the others told lawmakers that North Korea was unlikely to give up its nuclear arsenal, that Iran has not restarted work to build one and that the Islamic State was not defeated, all assessments that clash with the president’s worldview. But Mr. Trump said the intelligence chiefs told him their presentation was misinterpreted. “They said, ‘Sir, our testimony was totally mischaracterized,’” Mr. Trump said. “I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ And when you read their testimony and you read their statements, it was mischaracterized by the media.” Even though he had assailed the chiefs earlier in the week, he said, “I’m happy with Dan Coats.” Rosenstein told him he isn't a target of the investigation. (The amount of legal baggage and semantics games you can play with the word "target" is insane. Trump isn't aware of the SDNY investigation) + Show Spoiler + “Rod told me I’m not a target of the investigation,” he said at one point, but then later suggested he had not talked with him directly. “The lawyers ask him. They say, ‘He’s not a target of the investigation.’” Asked if that also covered the separate investigation by federal prosecutors in New York, he said, “I don’t know about that.” Neither Mr. Rosenstein nor Mr. Mueller has said whether Mr. Trump is a target, and the president could not recall when Mr. Rosenstein would have assured him. Mr. Mueller has been known to explore whether the president’s actions amounted to obstruction of justice. But since Justice Department policy bars indicting a sitting president, it is unclear whether the term “target” would apply.

He has a choice between the two, and if he choose big pharma, there's no reason to even discuss him. Bernie and other progressives will blast him all over Reddit until he drops out. He does have an easy out that a lot of those companies are in his home state and he was accepting money from “local companies”. It isn't a good excuse, but it is one I will tolerate. He dropped them a little ago, if I remember correctly. But he should address it, if only to show people he is aware that it is a problem for a lot of voters. Plus the recent law suits make it so much easier to dunk on them without much in the way of consequences.

Tounge and cheek battles only help those in the lead sadly. Attack ads work, and as long as they work people are going to use them. It is a sad part of who we are as people

It gives candidates repeated opportunities to differentiate themselves while giving the public a sense for how much bigger the left tent is then the right. aslong as they handle the debates better than republicans did. I don't want a primetime and jr debate

I would not be surprised if they do teh random selection live on Youtube with a bingo hopper given how transparent the DNC is trying to be this time around.

But those first debates are going to be silly big. They are going to have everyone in the debates if possible. I would not be surprised if they do teh random selection live on Youtube with a bingo hopper given how transparent the DNC is trying to be this time around. I would 100% be down for this. Extra hype for the debate. Someone email the DNC

I don’t see much difference between them doing it and the DNC doing it. And at the end of the day, the DNC is the one setting up these debates and picking the format.
