A system like this allows them to kill a progressive policy without directly showing that they don't support it. Surely you can see the difference and the benefit; they can, anyway. As I said in the other thread, this is only for spending bills that don't increase revenue to offset the spending. Congress also writes laws and can propose non-biding resolutions for a vote and the rule will have no impact. There are lots of ways to bring progress issues to the floor. The reality is that for the next two years progressives are not going to much of anything passed beyond the House. Same goes for the Centrist. Lord Turtle's Republicans in the Senate are running for re-election in 2 years and they are not going to want to play ball or fight with the President.

Also, twitter is frothing with conservatives and others sharing this video of Ocasio Cortez from high school doing a dance from the Breakfast Club with her teenage friends. It has to be some of the creepiest and saddest shit I’ve seen in a while. And apparently dancing is now communist. Call Kevin Bacon.

All white dudes in blue and black on one side and a lot of women in colorful clothing on the other. And one of the new Muslim women House Rep’s son dabbed for a photo right in the well of the House, so it’s already 1000% better than anything done under Paul Ryan. Or they hate the Breakfast Club? But you need to be a really creepy, sexist dude or a very old Christian conservative who has never seen a music video ever to find anything wrong it with. But it is full blown Sideshow Bob rake to face because it just makes her seem more fun and likeable. But there are a lot of ladies in congress now, so the ham fisted sexist attacks on them are going to be a thing going forward.

With the freedom caucus dead and in the minority, you are going to see moderate Republicans desperately trying to hang onto their jobs going forward. Without Obama and the ACA to rail against, the Republican party doesn't have any policies or stand for anything beyond poor governance. Edit: Fucking auto correct keeps correcting caucus to cactus and I sort of just want to let is going forward.

If only they had not spent the last two years trying to truly kill the ACA. I believe that is part of it, but mostly because it is the only thing Republicans know. They can't remove any of the popular parts of the ACA without getting destroyed at the polls in 2020. And Trump will still be on the ballot with an economy feeling the pinch of his trade policies. They are in the grips of this cult of personality that is still deep in the delusion of thinking the majority of Americans support him.

If I want a perspective other than DEMOCRATS ARE THE WORST LOL THEY'RE THE WORST WORSTEST WORST IN THE WORLD TRUMP IS WINNING SOOOOOO HARD then yes, kind of. Pretty much all the prime voices in the other thread are direct Trump supporters or despise the Democrats enough that it makes no difference. When those guys are saying repeatedly that the Democrats are conceding ground to Trump and I can't find evidence of it myself, it behooves me to ask the other side.

Well they started a thread on their own because no one was really interested to discuss with them. Are you surprised that Danglar and GH don’t need any facts or even any rational argument to scream all day long that the Dems suck? I mean, that’s the only one thing GH has been saying in years, and he started that thread.

But seems a whole lot of nothing- it's certainly a better quality video then the stuff I used to record with an old point and shoot. If that's all they got from college days- no tweets threatening murder, I think's she'll do alright. I think it was twitter being twitter? Because all I see is a bunch of news organizations complaining about it circulating. Would it have gone anywhere if they left it in the twitter silo? Dunno. edit Like, the biggest of the re-uploads has 50k views after a month, which is nothing in youtube land.

I think this time permamently. So he made a safe space for himself, where he can practice having a conversation. Of course the rest of the posters joined because they were also banned form the US pol thread. It's not like they had a choice if they want to express hatred for a political party, becuase they couldn't choose do it civilly here. People were very interested to discuss topics with them, but in GH case, it was just him screaming "abolish the police" and in Danglars case it was screeching about some twaddle and denying what he wrote, and denying other people's opinions as valid.

Abolish the (racist) police. Horrible democrats. Evil corporate librerals/media. Pick the most fitting answer out of these 3 and you can simulate a discussion with GH for any given topic, just remind yourself to also act like you are 100% right, be openly hostile to anyone that isn't 100% on board with you and act like everyone else is a moron that has no clue about "life". He is a prime example of why people don't like progressives, even people that agree with them on most issues can't fatom that bs for too long. These types also brought you Trump... What a win.
