We’re back again with an update about our wikis and the progress that has been made during August.
This was a month of quite a few new records for the wiki. To start with it is the first month to get over 20 million pageviews, (it was 21.4 millions to be more exact) it was also the first month to have over 2 million users (2.3 million to be more exact), first month with over 6 million sessions (6.4 million, again to be more exact) and over 1 million of these sessions were on a mobile device (1.2 million) which was about 19% of total sessions, which was also a record.
Dota 2 also set the record for the best month for any individual wiki in terms of traffic, and this was due to The International 5 Finals.
Although it was posted in July I also want to link you to FO-nTTaX’s blog Liquipedia for Dummies as a good starting point if you want to learn the basics for editing a wiki. They really are super simple and a great way to overcome any code anxiety.

Many thanks to the various SSL11 tournament page contributors, including HyralGambit and BLinD-RawR. Similarly, the weekly Legacy Cup series is ongoing with a variety of folks chipping away to complete them!
The Monthly Goals
There are still a lot old tournaments missing and every bit of help adding old tournaments is appreciated. Even though some work on old Proleagues were done, these very important team leagues are still not on par with their StarCraft II counterparts, so if you are looking for somewhere to help out, this is your chance.

CynicalDeath has been live updating like crazy once again this month. SNSeigifried, Inflicted, Yhamm, Pretender58, DARKING and Clubfan were also of great help.
For Legacy of the Void, we now have brackets for archon mode. We still have to add or change some templates (prize pool table templates, Infobox league, ...) and add archon mode brackets for other modes to be fully ready for the archon tournaments.
Still for LotV, NeoBlade is updating some strategy pages, and MildCocoA is always keeping the patch pages up-to-date.
[16thSq] Kuro has been editing some player pages. It is a task often forgotten by us, so thanks for helping there.
The Monthly Goals
Proleague Round 4, WCS and (probably) SSL are coming to an end this month, and DreamHack Stockholm will happen at the end of the month. After that, the finals for Proleague and GSL are in October, BlizzCon is in November, but then Legacy of the Void is coming, so we can start preparing for it.
Including all the new SMW stuff that some wikis already have will also be one of our goals, even if some of these functionalities require a clean-up of some of our old pages.
A lot of player pages either lack biographies or are incomplete. Improving and updating these should be a priority to prevent the wiki from “falling behind”.

The International was a huge success for the wiki thanks to all the great contributors keeping it up to date. Special thanks to Yhamm, Whisper, and Ricci for their big contributions.
XMS, tehh4ck3r and Elyvilon have been very busy adding prize pool start and TeamCard information to old tournaments, to let us parse them with SMW (and create our new results pages automatically). The tournament scene has been fairly quiet since The International, nonetheless XMS, Elyvilon and seanzk have been all over the tournament pages for the smaller competitions that have been going on. Most live reporting this month came from Valve’s enforcement of roster locks for their upcoming majors, giving us a shorter and busier than ever shuffle period. tehh4ck3r and Elyvilon did some great work keeping the wiki up to date here.
Although technically already being introduced in July, upcoming and ongoing matches for specific teams have been added to many team pages.
The Monthly Goals
Multisquad rollout has mostly wrapped up, all major teams have now been split into separate pages. There are a few minor or historical teams that have not been split up. This means we now have upcoming and live matches, and SMW results, for all of these team pages. Thanks to tehh4ck3r and Tephus who created most of these multi squad pages, and iakona13 for leading the initial design process.
We are still adding prize pool start and/or TeamCards to many old tournaments, and increasing existing prize pool start and TeamCards to include all participants in a tournament so that all results are recorded (and queryable). See Category:Tournaments missing TeamCards and Category:Tournaments missing Prize pool start if you want to help out!
We are also still creating results concept and pages for any players and teams that don’t have them yet. Some players and teams already had a results table similar to their achievements table, it hasn’t been discussed how to proceed in these cases..

Ricci and Hzhenyu007 were the top contributors updating new TGT cards and tournaments respectively.
VictorVector and Dalnore kept Archon Team League Championships up to date.
The Monthly Goals
We need to keep the tournament results updated.
The new expansion cards and the images for them are high priority.
We also need to keep on top of team transfers as it is one of the main features of our Main Page.

A lot of work went into making the wiki ready for all the smash games. All the templates that use game specific icons or text need updates. Ricci was instrumental in setting up a lot of this, with the help of various helpers. We covered all the bigger tournaments, unfortunately not all live though. Shloub has been the boss he always is, leading the edit rankings by far again this month, but Targe, Androxide, Kaabistar, Ricci and Lafungo also had a fair share of edits in August.
SSC went well thanks to Kaabistar, Lafungo, and Shloub.
Lafungo and Shloub worked on PR templates, Targe experimented it along with the UK coverage.
Shloub fixed quite a few bracket inconsistencies.
Androxide and Ricci added quite a few icon templates for the other smashes support.
The Monthly Goals
Preparing the wiki for all the smash titles still isn’t completely done yet, but we should be able to finish this soon. With Paragon, DreamHack London and the HTC throwdown, we again have some bigger tournaments to cover.
We still project to work on the other smashes support.
Of course we’ll try and cover Paragon and HTC Throwdown (DreamHack London at the same time will be an interesting challenge).

August’s top contributors were Hzhenyu007, Iakona13, Valiver, and DARKING. The growth of the wiki is very consistent and it’s very much thanks to everyone’s contributions keeping the esports content up to date, and the game content is also slowly improving.
The Monthly Goals
Tournament results keeps being the top priority. However adding more information about the battlegrounds and info on heroes and links to off site guides (video or text).

The weapon finishes pages are completed for now (thanks Swampflare), we successfully worked through ESL One Cologne, which surely was the biggest event of the month, and all around the wiki grew quite nicely. Whilst we are keeping up with the current tournaments, a lot of work goes into documenting the old days of Counter-Strike, be it old KODE5 tournaments, or a page about the Golden Five, we are getting there. This month's biggest wiki heroes in the CS wiki include Tolkienfanatic, Whisper, Omarion, Vappy, Swampflare, Gonace and Jawmare, all of which did more than 500 edits.
The Monthly Goals
After the weapon finishes pages are done, Swampflare talked about starting with pages for the collections. With ESL ESEA Dubai Open we will again have tournaments with a lot of viewers which we should make sure to have always live, and some other leagues are going strong as well at the moment.
The merging process still is not finished, and always needs helping hands, although most bigger tournaments, teams and players are done by now. If you’re especially interested in smaller regional leagues, be sure to join in the editing on those, as those need help more than the big tournaments which always attract a lot of contributors. A lot of tournaments are still lacking even basic introduction sentences, which should give an overview about it.
Adding prize pool start and/or TeamCards to old tournaments, and increasing existing prize pool start and TeamCards to include all participants in a tournament so that all results are recorded.
Creating results concept and pages for any players and teams that don’t have them yet
The list of ongoing and upcoming matches we currently have for Dota 2 is almost ready to be ported to our Counter-Strike wiki.
