What rotta said... Or you could just spoiler it or something...

Aaaanyway, for anyone who didn't come here to read YokoKano's whatever-it-is, here is some nice and chilled music for your pleasure.

also, me rambling on taking a break from dugs, hopefully more coherently and understandibly then our aforementioned friend:
+ Show Spoiler +
I'm on an unintended break this week (and potentially for longer), coz I simply don't have any money, but this time I realized it's not actually that bad of a thing. I usually find it very hard to concentrate on anything in the first couple of days of a break, but after a 100% chilled and 100% clean week, my mind is ready for sobriety, and I can actually feel the effects of drug overuse/abuse. After months (more like years in my case, probably) of spending more waking hours high then not, being sober is like a new drug. It makes me see things I didn't notice before, it is just as eye-opening and liberating as smoking a joint after a week's worth of work/school.
I guess as with all things in life, balance and ratio is key. Drugs should be used to 'alter your consciousness' not to create and maintain a new one. If you (like I do these days) feel the need to basically be constatly high on something, then the problem is bigger than something you can solve by calming your mind with a spliff and just thinking, or partying your brains out, high on whatever you can find.
So try new stuff (not drugs), something you have never done before (I started writing down some of the stories I've had in mind for years). Phisical excerise is extremely helpful as well (you know, sound mind, sound body and all that good stuff). I guarantee you that if/after you can overcome the initial 'withdrawal symptoms', anything that takes you out of the usual (the life-is-bad-so-get-high) mindset will have good effects similar to those of drug use, but without the bad parts we all feel, just usually don't admit.
And if you are a casual (well, I guess you could call it wiser) drug user, just remember the reason you got high in the first place, because I guarantee you, if you ever fall on the side of daily drug use, you WILL find reasons to get high you've never thought existed. Hell, after a point you don't need a reason, an occasion or company, only your preferred stuff. Most importantly remember, drugs are not the solution even though they can be very helpful.
Fuck, I'm actually starting to feel unfocused again, after writing like 15 lines of text... Gotta go and do something useful and creative.

+ Show Spoiler +
Well I guess it's not as coherent and 'clean' as I wanted it to be, but I think I managed to say what I wanted. Stay safe and responsible! peace

Hey, searching for more trip-music and especially the music similar to Asura, Solar Fields, Tripswitch, Carbon Based Lifeforms, N'to. I know alot of people enjoy music like Spongle but I find them a bit to .. fucky?! Especially when you are fucking surfing through space on a painting of Jesus*.. haha (*read tripping balls)
In my experience CBL, Solar Fields etc really sit wells with most people tripping, so any more tips of similar music?

Wow, Tripswitch is pretty nice, never heard of him before, thanks. If you are into a bit more 'tech-y' stuff, I also recommend Acces to Arasaka. And I know you said Spongle isn't exactly your thing, but you should still try pretty much everything Simon Posford was ever involved in, the guy is a genius. And I also found Younger Brother and Benji Vaughan while 'exploring his music'.

I made a pipe out of an apple since I still haven't gotten around to replacing the bowl for my bong:

(used http://www.wikihow.com/Make-an-Apple-Pipe for reference)

It works... really well actually lol. My stopper even fits in perfectly at the bottom of the bowl at the top as you can see. Dunno why the picture embeds sideways; if you click the image it shows it upright on imgur.

Well the odds that you buy weed from South America/Mexico is pretty small if you live in Europe. Except of course if you buy specifically weed from that region.
So cheer up and roll another joint

Dont feel bad, and its not a shame, at least not more than every other non smoking citizen should have. We all support murder in one way passively, ALL of us (few excpetion maybe). Coltan for example. But if its in everyday products that normal law abiding citizens use, then it is not worth informing people about.

Better keep telling Drug-Users they support the war the goverment starts by making it illegal lol. The shame is that provenly not working prohibition is still being upheld and people die for no reason.

i think humanity's huge fail is not to combine eastern mind technology with the positive elements of christianity. basically "blind" cooperation although it seems stupid in the short run or in small sample sizes generates a lot of fat which is really what we need today in a world that is coming to recognize scarcity of mind-space. i think if there's a problem with the east it's that the culture of mind is so old that you've got guys using nth level gun-blade-armor instead of infinite-resource moonwells. imo you could have both; historically they're at odds but in theory the synergy is like nuclear fusion.

from a mind-space perspective "inexplicable" infinite-mana moonwells are scientifically speaking not much more difficult to explain than nth level gun-blade armor (basically returns to scope instead of returns to scale) or the sacred feminine (the west) vs the sacred masculine (the east). drugs and logical skepticism have basically destroyed the essentially feminine institution of faith in the universal application of higher ethics. this happened basically for the same reason that one-base was initially preferred to early expo. the practical reality of higher ethics takes a lot longer to develop (but is also potentially a lot stronger) than defection-based strategies. imo this explains the "fall" of christianity in the short-term as psychoactive drugs were introduced to the west, but predicts that the essential emergent principles of christianity will make a long term resurgence if a wise capitalist like gandalf jump starts it.

imo there is empirical evidence for this expectation if you look at the top of historically "black" pyramids: true black bosses like charles, vicious, arthur, and the godfather are basically evil but peaceful cat-like creatures. essentially we are asymptotically approaching some convergence of returns to scale and returns to scope that yields the cooperation equilibrium predicted by my analysis of the prisoner's dilemma. imo this is really important if we don't want the world to end on account of nukes or some bullshit in the short-run. scientific breakthrough is basically a short-run manifestation of humanity's long-term life expectancy which could accelerate rapidly. in turn this could result in major mind-related scientific breakthroughs in the short run that improved the life expectancy of our generation dramatically.

I guess what I'm arguing is that while I'm not 100% sure yet how to define the positive elements of Christian faith-based tech, I'm 100% sure that we got really unlucky that all the Christian mind-tech was completely at odds with our initial conception of empirical science and drug use. It's like the emergent properties of Christianity were such that at the time drugs came to the West drugs and Christianity were antithetical. Likewise with Christian politics and empirical science.

It was like saying all like Light-side Jedi who follow Master Windu also can't use a lightsaber. Naturally there was a huge backlash against this as drugs, especially "acid" rose in popularity. Also the popularity and influence of empirical science rapidly overtook development of what could be termed science of the mind.

Had the science of mind developed faster, I think there would have been much more harmony between drugs, science and Christianity. IMO the failure of the science of mind to develop at the same pace as what we term "empirical science" is the casual factor behind most tragedies of the 20th century.

Basically the east was going through "science tech shock" while the west was going through "mind and drug shock". Science tech killed Buddhism or something and drug and mind tech killed Christianity. So instead of the possible awesome synergy that could have occurred (think Final Fantasy), you ended up with a giant cluster fuck that imo continues to plague humanity.

Hmm so the most important point is that we rapidly develop a more cogent "science" of mind to justify the ancient superstitions and salvage all the potentially super powerful mind technology now deemed "irrational" or "unreasonable" when in fact a thorough understanding of mysticism could find all of the so-called superstitious elements completely explicable.

attack strategy has a huge range like loose aggressive poker but at its essence it's information asymmetry abuse. this creates problematic societal memes that say, "attacking like this is polite and proper", attack all the time according to this schema but make sure not to actually reveal. (because if you reveal then you destroy the information asymmetry which the game depends upon). this sort of intelligence creates weird shadow prices that are potentially problematic. i guess you could say the problem is that you gain the upperhand until your opponent resigns instead of outright winning and achieving checkmate. thus many black styles suffer from the "limit" problem where the strategy asymptotically approaches a number but in fact ultimately stops short.

in other words, throw darts to open holes. the more you probe your opponent's mind the more likely you are to find holes in their game. naturally it's a lot easier to attack than to defend unless your style is really clean. thus jin from samurai champloo. opening holes isn't necessarily a plus because the temptation to exploit your edge leads to "sin" or behavior that damages society. there is the attitude that "if you're willing to behave in this way then i'm willing to go along with it so that your mistakes become clear". thus an abundance of cynicism leads to inefficiency not unlike that of blind faith.

thus to be truly gosu at black one must play with the rigid code of the samurai. in my mind this is the east's biggest potential pitfall. attack style is in most cases exploitative and human ego and desire end up being its swan song. i think this is kind of an interesting analysis of how the idea of freeing oneself of egoistic desires often leads to sadism as a mode of helping others or masochism as a mode of freeing oneself. thus to be a true buddha one must first be a true yogi.

white isn't much different in this regard, and is probably more prone to an opposite sort of egoism. defensive style tends to establish very cut and dried rules and then attempts to adhere to or improve the rules. thus the style is very much ego oriented because it depends heavily on one's proficiency at living up to a generative rule set. while both styles create an unique form of intelligence defensive style is probably more prone to getting tied up in one's own devices and developing bias against those who don't follow one's ruleset while attack style is more prone to getting tied up in the knots of others or a reliance on having something to attack (a sort of ripple effect of attacking is that puncturing one point draws attention to that point to the exclusion of other points).\

i guess i would summarize that a black warrior shouldn't become a pin cushion and a white warrior shouldn't become a dry wall.

imo it's interesting how human language has evolved where black = attack and white = defense while in chess it's just the opposite. the parallel is that chess is a game of complete information where real life is a game of incomplete information.

Haha, the last time I posted in this thread, January 2013, I was still smoking out of apples. Now I got myself an Arizer Solo as well as a VaporGenie which I let my roommate use most of the time, haha. Brings back some memories.
Still feeling the effects of the two bowls I smoked in the early morning, also still feeling the Adderall I took yesterday. Time for some computer science, good thing I'm a god amongst men when I do it high .
