i would describe my experience with vapes not as "higher" but a more "clean" high. its true you dont blow out as much smoke and you also dont struggle with holding it in or w.e. its just... smooth... then before your know it your baked. but like without the lung sore.

id say the results are the same but the journey is less entertaining while being way way better for you.

Post this again for the vape pen crowd
http://www.medicaljane.com/review/the-thermovape-cera-by-thermo-essence-technologies/
I've used this thing and have been blown away. I own a volcano, MFB, atmos, have tried a buddha, another vape box, various other pens and nothing compares... ok maybe the volcano but that's not too portable. This thing might even compete against a monster dab on a toro.. I shit you not you can dab like half a g in this damn thing. The cera will chief either flowers or oil.

I've learned from trial and error that wasting my money on cheaper vapes that will break was not the way.
cheers fellow stoners.

So here's a question for this thread. I've been thinking about this since the beginning of the year and I would love to hear your thoughts on it. This primarily pertains to the United States.

The general public's thoughts of marijuana have changed drastically over the course of 30 years. With more and more people trying to drug and some parts of the country fully legalizing it, it is bringing in a new group of people into the world of "being high". What was once illegal is soon to become legal, slowly but surely. We are no longer talking about if it will be legal, but when. Much like how alcohol was under prohibition and then lifted, more and more people are soon to accept it.

With that comes the loss of stoner culture. Stoner movies, or classic stoner music may soon change as marijuana usage becomes more mainstream. The face of what people consider a stoner may change to more of an everyday kind of guy. Art and poetry could be influenced by the new perception of the drug. What kind of impact will it have on our society as a whole. What do you think will happen with our music, our movies, our Friday nights. Do you think younger people will prefer weed over beer? Do you think eventually they will? Never? What about marijuana usage in movies in the same way that alcohol is perceived?

tl;dr
What do you think will happen to stoner culture in the future years as we see marijuana become more accepted by the general public (movies, music, art, government, etc.)?

Popular stoner culture as opposed to stoner political culture has generally not gotten caught up too much in weed being illegal, weed being illegal has usually been used as a way to set up humorous situations in stoner movies for example, not for serious political commentary. If legalization of weed brings much higher use, it will start to filter in general pop culture and be seen and used in movies and stuff the way alcohol is, just something some of the characters do.

I don't think anyone has any clue. There are studies that show if every single drug was legalized and regulated usage would actually go down. But that is when it is accompanied by education on the proper uses and such. Honestly, I think usage will go down because marijuana will be harder to get for young people. I know alcohol is harder to get when you are 15-16 then Marijuana, at least in my experience. Also, marijuana isn't really good for brain development when you are a teenager 13-17ish so I think age restrictions are sure to accompany any sort of legalization. So "stoner" culture is really just counter-culture in general, I know people don't necessarily think they started smoking pot to "look cool" or "rebel against authority" but it has something to do with it I think. For me, when I was growing up all I heard was how terrible drugs were, including marijuana, and how doing it would ruin my life and all that shit. So when I did try smoking for the first time and had a great experience it was like my trust for these people immediately was lost, and so "authority" or whatever you want to call it I just didn't trust anymore to tell me what I can or cannot do with my life. So that "stoner" culture is mostly just people thinking for themselves, being creative and original, expressing yourself however you can because you are thinking deeply about things that are generally accepted by the majority without giving extra thought to things. I think that will always be there, and I would hope that artistic endeavors and creative pursuits would be more acceptable for people as "career" choices, and be promoted more in schools or passed down to kids growing up that it's OK to pursue your creative passions.

One thing I hope that happens is that legalization of marijuana leads to more acceptance and research with "psychedelics", which thankfully there are already some brilliant people getting amazing and interesting results with the very few studies being allowed to take place right now. I think this, coupled with marijuana legalization and general drug decriminalization which I hope happens sooner rather than later will take the best qualities of the "stoner" culture and bring them into the mainstream. Because right now in the US religious extremist values and outdated Catholic/Christian values are being stuffed down everyone's throat on a daily basis. Republican refusal to accept Scientific Facts and Democrats complete failure to connect with the younger generation/complete failure to present an acceptable alternative is helping fuel young people to open up their opinions about Politics in general and dig deeper into these things to find a political ideology that better represents their evolving values and thoughts about the world. People who identify as Independents has never been higher, and I think Marijuana and Psychedelic experimentation has been a big factor in this. Just the fact that marijuana forces you to question your opinions and assumptions leads to greater things and a more deep-thinking culture. I don't really care about "stoner movies" or whatever, don't get me wrong I enjoy them on occasion, but I think "stoner" culture in general can lead to bigger and better things. Stoner's are generally portrayed incorrectly anyways, and I was never big on sitting around for 10 hours a day constantly smoking my brains out until I couldn't move or speak. That's just not what I was looking to get out of marijuana or the experience, it made me think and question and think deep about things that I wouldn't have thought about otherwise. It helped me channel my artistic nature, creating and expressing myself through whatever medium I could get my hands on whether it be drawing, painting, sculpting, video, writing, comedy or whatever.

It's just a beautiful thing and US society in general has really turned it's back on creativity and art slowly throughout the years, and in my opinion has accounted for a huge part of why our country is so fucked up. The same goes for Psychedelics, all throughout history societies and cultures were experimenting with Psychedelics of all kinds and exploring the inner beauty of their consciousness, which contributed to a healthy culture and society as a whole. Marijuana I think is bringing us closer and closer to that once again, because it is very much an exploration of consciousness just a less intense and overwhelming experience for some people.

And as far as beer vs weed, I think people will always drink beer, but I think there are a lot of people who if weed was legal where the live, would prefer to have a smoke after work to decompress rather than a beer. For me, I was always I smoke before drink person, but that is also just my personality or my personal preference. Some people love to drink, it's their choice and I don't think it really needs to be about beer vs weed. They are a much different experiences, being drunk and being high in my opinion, but young people will at least have the option once weed is legalized to choose one or the other. That's the most important thing. And a "stoner" in the classical sense has already started to be mythical in my opinion. The majority of people who smoke weed are "regular" people. They have jobs, they have families or whatever. The stereotype is a myth, although most people can relate to a certain portion of that stereotype (because that's what a stereotype is, really). I hope that stereotype goes away because that is basically what is holding back "stoner" culture from being taken seriously, or at least it was. People think of weed and they think of lazy, incoherent, unintelligent, unmotivated, dirty males who live with their mom and dad and smoke 12 hours a day and watch movies. But that isn't true, and I would hope that people would strive to be more than that. You can smoke weed and be a productive person, an intelligent person, and a motivated/successful person, and I think most people are these days. I love weed and I enjoy the experience, but I don't obsess over it and I don't revolve my entire life over it. I also enjoy a nice Psychedelic experience every month or two, it's amazing and keeps me thinking and questioning and improving myself as a human being on this planet who is connected to every living thing, and I think culture/society in general will soon, hopefully, with the legalization of Marijuana see that as well.

artifaks all I will say is that you are very wrong about cultural output declining in the United States and also I think it is pretty naive to assume that legalization of drugs will bring about some kind of utopia, just like the drug warriors some stoners hold pretty outlandish ideas about the influence of drugs on society.

I recently discovered an alternative to a tolerance break, you can simply go donate blood.

Free bloodwork/health-check, you´re doing something good, + you probably even get cash, here (germany) you get 25 €. Whole thing takes you about 30 minutes, unless its your first time donating, after that:
Voilá your high as a kite after smoking again for a while just like after a tolerance break.

Wait what, could you elaborate further?

I am aware of the benefits of regularly donating blood - it's good for your health as it stimulates your bone marrows and other systems to work harder and increase blood production.

However, I can't for the life of me figure out how parting with ~500mL of your blood helps to combat MJ tolerance? Tolerance from MJ develops when the brain adapts to a prolonged period of bombardment from THC and other cannabinoids, so natural levels of dopamine production falls dramatically and cannabinoids receptors bind less efficiently with fake neurotransmitters from MJ through a variety of mechanisms.

So how is donating blood relevant to any of this brain chemistry?

Recommend T-breaks to anyone who smokes daily.

And no, going to sleep is not going on a T-break.

Even after just 36 hours... the tiniest amount hits you like a fucking freight train.
