It does make absolutely no difference whether or not it gets dismantled or just not certified, the effect objectively is the same other than some random not being satisfied for some reason. Do you even understand the difference between sanction and punishment? What would be the point of dismantling it? If Putin rows back tomorrow, which he won't obviously - but lets assume, then there's nothing speaking against opening Nordstream, since we very much have on record that germany is willing to put a knot in it if Putin misbehaves - and isn't blackmailable like experts on reddit, and probably you too, explained. Any news on the Superbowl? No, what that means is that it's halted until the situation is resolved, one way or another. This isn't the US, or the UK for that matter. Nordstream might come back, sure. For that, certain requirements need to be fulfilled. How people genuinely with a straight face argue that Nordstream as a sanction needs to be gone entirely when the entire point of a sanction is that it's reversible in case the situation improves/resolves is absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, they dismantle Nordstream tomorrow. What now, what incentive has Putin now to make good on things? Not that he would in the first place, not just yet - but it's shocking how stupid some people are here. Also: lol at the UKs sanctions. All bluster, no balls - much like the US and the rest of europe. Big talk, tiny dicks. I also fail to see how this is seemingly all germanys fault to some posters here. As long as Nordstream 2 is actually put on hold what is there to complain about regarding sanctions? Is it germanys fault that Putin wants to create an empire and screws the energy system? Do people actually believe Ukraine would have a chance against russia if germany sent some weapons? Come on...

And Putin said, he will check his planer, but it looks not that good > https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/europa/macron-biden-putin-ukraine-baerbock-103.html (German) "Es gibt soweit keine konkreten Pläne dazu" ("There are no concrete plans for this so far".) So this "no I will not meet with you" is maybe just a backlash. Also this basically says "we have nothing to talk about" ... and hell they have! I don't like that arrogant move from Blinken!

US. intelligence officials have revealed to Newsweek that President Joe Biden's administration has informed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of intelligence assessing that Russia is preparing to conduct a full-scale invasion of the neighboring country within the next 48 hours. "The President of Ukraine has been warned Russia will highly likely begin an invasion within 48 hours based on U.S. intelligence," the U.S. official with direct knowledge told Newsweek. "Additionally," the U.S. official added, "reporting from aircraft observers indicates Russia violated Ukrainian airspace earlier today, flying possible reconnaissance aircraft for a short period over Ukraine." A source close to Zelenskyy's government also confirmed to Newsweek that such a warning was received. The information was confirmed by a second U.S. intelligence official, who emphasized the comprehensive nature of the military operation the Pentagon anticipated from Russia. The official told Newsweek that the invasion will include not only a push from the pro-Moscow rebel-held Donbas region in the east, where additional Russian units were sent Monday as peacekeepers, but also a major thrust toward the capital Kyiv from the northern border with Belarus, where Russian troops recently extended joint exercises with their ally. The second U.S. official said that the operation would likely occur at nighttime and include be preempted by cyber attacks, but both officials maintained that Russia's plans could change based on daily developments. Shortly after Newsweek was made aware of these U.S. assessments, the websites for Ukraine's Defense Ministry, Foreign Ministry and other institutions abruptly went offline in what signaled a potential sweeping cyber attack, which would add to a series of apparent cyber assaults that the White House has publicly blamed on Moscow.
