The guy running Metal Warriors looks like the son of Michael C. Hall and Huk.

Metal Warriors looks really good to me. "Realistic" proportions of humans and robots (humans are small, robots are powerfull), the overall design and action...pretty good.

Yea they have been done to death, but for good reasons.
I still love to watch those runs even if I watch them all the time anyway on twitch (OoT, WW, MM, SM64 etc). For some reason im really not excited about the schedule this year. Very few games actually interest me there.

Exactly. lol, i'd watch them every damn GDQ. There are no games that interest me at this SGDQ, literally 0, i still watch because the event itself is awesome.

Even if these games are done to the death, they still need to have some high profile speed runners running them... they need to keep in mind this whole thing is for a charity and I don't think they'll come close to last year's donation goal at this rate

Those are typically done in AGDQ.

They have been done at SGDQ in the past a lot not to mention every god damn online marathon there ever is

I'm just glad some other games got the spot light even if they don't bring in the hype. This is as much as show casing the community and the games as it is bringing in money (although bringing in money should be the primary goal I admit)

I'm looking forward to the Deus Ex: HR run. That game took me 8 hours the SECOND time I played through it. How it's under 80 minutes is beyond me.
I will reduce you to a series of numbers.

But if you were to organize 'GDQs with the mindset of doing all the most popular games by the most popular runners then you could end up with every marathon being mostly the same games and people.

I wouldn't worry too much about this SGDQ raising more than last year's. Not even 24 hours in and they're already up to 65k USD on the donation tracker.

Such a cool game, but I've never seen a speedrun of it before, Definitely one I'm looking forward to as well.

yeah, last SGDQ raised like 250k. We'll easily beat that this time. Probably won't reach the million but that's normal, SGDQ is smaller than AGDQ normally
Just ahead of time, know your addiction's not a crime. It's just a smaller part of who you want to become in the end.

Agreed, every SGDQ has been significantly smaller than every past AGDQ of the same year. I don't think the organizers even really hoped to reach the million mark, but they'll almost definitely beat SGDQ 2013's donation number. Still not even 24 hours in and 67k raised - although the last 12 hours have been much slower than the first 11.

Yeah right now people are still sleeping for the most part. I'm at the donation station and its overall pretty chill for the past 2-3 hours.

Side note: Donation station has some of the best seats in the house =D
