Anand still has tiny tiny advantage. However, if Queens are exchanged, it will most probably end with a dull draw.

I guess 17...Qd5 18. Qg4 is obvious for Vishy to keep some chances. Carlsen's Queenside pawns aren't prepared to counterattack on the other side yet, so IMO Black is a little worse at the moment since he can't create counterplay right away.

Queens are off, Carlsen will shine in the end game

Feels like Carlsen has a better position now since the pawn is at c3 blocking the white bishop, cool seeing that weird bishop move earlier potentially paying off. What are your thoughts on who is in a better position now?

Most of Carlsens pawns are white while most of Anand's are black, since its a black bishop end game basic chess knowledge suggests Carlsen is ahead.

more or less equal

Anand made a series of decisions (starting with Ne4 and ending with trading queens instead of Qg4) that have quieted this game down. The game might go on for a long while, but a draw should be by far the most likely outcome.

This was a Caro-Kann opening from Carlsen?

The engine estimates a 0.09 pawn advantage for white, which means nothing at all

In terms of points (where a knight is 3, a pawn is 1, etc), how ahead or behind the computer evaluates the turn player.

boring game

yesterday's game was much more interesting even though it was also a short draw

Yeah, Anand had optimistic prospects as long as the Queens were on. Now the mating attacks are off the cards, so the main considerations are positional advantages, and those belong to Carlsen because of his superior pawn structure. But I don't think the game is dynamic enough to bring him anything more than a draw. The position is quite boring anyway.

Oh well, looks like repetition again. Sigh. I wouldn't mind so much if the match was longer than 12 games.
