Carlsen draw against Guseinov with Black and looked pissed as he walked away from the board. At one point he had 7 minutes on the clock against 30 seconds with comfortable position, so it's undersandable why he was a little upset.

And lol, instead of simply recapturing, Svidler tried to be cute with ...Qb6 zwischenzug, and completely died to sacrificial attack starting with Bxh7+ by Yu Yangyi. Quite spectacular trashing in Paulsen Sicilian.

BTW, I think http://www.chessbomb.com/arena/2014-wrbc-r has better updates on the boards.

Nice game between Carlsen and Karjakin, thanks for the heads up. It was also pretty funny how the commentator kept insisting Karjakin should play Rc4 when his rook was on b7 ,-)

Yeah, I saw that. I'm surprised that Karjakin played so many quiet moves instead of going full crazy, seemed like he had a great attacking chances after holding that first storm. Maybe he didn't want to tempt fate against Dragon specialist.

Caruana managed to beat Nepomniachtchi and he is a sole leader with 5.5/6. Harry Potter might as well win this all.

Karjakin lost to Aronian and Caruana will likely draw against Grischuk. Carlsen has very advantageous endgame against Movsesian. Nakamura and Nepomniachtchi drew their game. Magnus and Fabiano joint leaders after Round 9?

Does anyone know how the computer registers the moves in general at chess tournaments? Do they use a camera or onboard detection?
Why is the live board always so delayed to the point of being unusable when following rapid chess?
