Quite some people only get on TL during work, as work in boring. There are more things to do after work, like hang out or actually play games rather than talk about it. Also many companies allow, or doesn't care about, casual surfing during work as long as they do not adversely affect what's gets done; people will find ways to slack off rather they surf or not anyway and bosses know that.

This site has a very long tradition of making things SFW by spoilering anything that is NSFW as NSFW. Where have you been?

Anything that would be unsafe for work has always been labeled as such. Think of it as "spoilers", but rather than ruining the outcome of a match, you are ruining someone's job.

I always figured if you were on a non-work website you were already in dangerous territory. The threads I participate in definitely don't "NSFW" tag stuff.

Hell, mods even forcibly closed the original "Funny Pics" thread and turned it from NSFW to SFW (I think it was for sponsorship/advertisement reasons?), which SUCKED ASS because the original thread had some fucking awesome pictures in it!

TL.net shows the support for gay people because they deserve to be treated as equals, the sexual orientation of a person should not matter whatswhoever. A nice person will be a nice person, the sexual orientation of the person will not change this. A douche will be a douche, the sexual orientation will not change this either. What i ask myself when i find myself thinking about a generalised group of people negatively: Why does it seem so hard to respect a wider group of people (in this case, gay people) while no one has a problem to accept that he knows this nice guy who is gay? What makes it so hard to even try fighting your own prejudices against a group of people while you, most possibly, personally know people of that group which show your prejudices are not correct?

I love the mods for doing this and feel they have shown extraordinary restraint in not dropping banhammers like it's in style.I also admire all the brave sexual and gender minoritied people who have posted in this thread, knowing how ugly it would be in here. + Show Spoiler + Scarlett is my hero Wow Fission, awesome post. I'm also really happy we can have a space for this. I myself often get pretty impatient with homophobia and the related intolerances. Then I'll tell myself well, the intolerance of others can be damaging, and it's best if the issues can be explained intelligently/respectfully/patiently since in-roads are never made otherwise---- so I should check my own intolerance of those who I think are intolerant at the door. I can disagree with intolerance and still be assertive and try to open up peoples perspectives with good discussion. People are more emotional than we all realize-- angry discussion usually just galvanizes opinions, regardless of how logical we think we're being and how we imagine logic to trump emotion in discussion. Oh, and mad props on the banner :D
