haha, just don't spend it exclusively on crack, hookers and blackjack :D :D

Money doesn' t give you hapiness. You think you can surround yourself with objects and things that will fill your life, thats just not how it works. Certainly it is a useful commodity to have, with money you can buy food, you can buy a home, a car, a state of the art computer, you can buy sex if you want to. It can make your life easier, on basic human needs. After that do, it is pointless. If you base your life around wanting money, all you will get is money. And in itself, at least, in the case of the euro, it doesn' t have any real value anymore. and i quote, if you want to have real success in your life, do what you truly love

Having monetary security gives alot of people the chance to do what they want. Many people cannot chase their dreams because of not having enough money and stuck in a job they do not want just to make ends meet.

That's actually completly insane, i guess all we can say is well played. Be careful though about saying that you mined them on your work computer, i assume it could get you in trouble if your ex employer hears of it for some reason (as most of the work that are done on a company computer belong to the company). Also i know bitcoins are still in kind of a grey area but maybe you should seek for some financial counselling to make sure that the governement won't come at you

Wow this is crazy. I cannot believe someone buys them now. Not saying your story isn't true, but what's the point of buying them for 1000 Dollar each (speculating on 2000$/each)? Btw I've no deep knowledge/experience with bitcoins just to say that. When you sold them, did you sell them to a single person/account? Can't he just get his money back on paypal and you wouldn't be able to get your coins back? I'll have to work like 20 years to get this money, you so op :D grats again!

Congrats! Just don't invest that money into a speculative currency that's eventually going to be worthless.
Don't spend it, life frugally and save. You'll be set for life. Congrats, again! Just don't let it destroy you.

Wow that's awesome man. I don't even really understand how this whole system works, but it sounds like you really lucked out. Also, do any of you actually know how the hell they set the value of bitcoin? Is there a limited number of them or is there an indefinite amount of them?

Anyway for those who don't understand. The value of Bitcoin comes from it quality as a money, not a good but a money. Those quality are similar to the quality of gold. Random people can't make them out of there as, States can't make it out of their magical printer.
Now, here come the bitcoin paradox. The more stable the bitcoin is, the better it works for it's primary purpose: the easy, secure, instant transfer of money. Now because the more stable it is, the more valuable it is, the prize rise and become unstable, which in turn starts to reduce the value growth until the system reach a stability point, but because of the volatility the system starts to occilate and that in turn can create a panic that combined with lets say some technical problem with a stock exchange that control 80% of the whole market like mtgox (not the case anymore) can create a sudden crash. This little panic spark can be anything. The bitcoin repeat all this because it is destined to rise to it's level of instability and the level is close to the place where people hold just too much compared to what they invested in.
Each cycle of high price redistribute the big amounts into more hands making the coin stronger but those hands are limited and the high price start to scare off newcomers.
Anyway, this is not something you put into one Wiki article, because the world needs a better money... Is the BTC the solution, I frankly don't know.
I hold 1 BTC by principle. Having a small amount (well not so small anymore) is participating in what can be a revolution that I want to be a part of.
Luck has nothing to do with those who cash already. You can cash whenever you want.

That's why it will never be a stable object. If it is not stable it can't be used in the economy. Which means it will stay a speculative object and should be treated as such.

Well, this is first degree of reasoning. But will it still be unstable as the mass rises.
