I think his commentary keeps him composed throughout these long runs.

Usually.

Ya after the first few days you could see how tired they were(and sometimes it showed in their play, understandably) because they want to stay up and be there for other runs, cheer on other runners, and just enjoy themselves and the environment. It has to be pretty fucking cool to be there in person with some of the best runners in the world, and watch them do some hype shit, all for a fantastic cause.
Oh snap Dram is doing the any% run... he DESTROYED the 96 exit race earlier in the marathon, it was ridiculously impressive and dripping with swag(backwards flying whaaaaaattttt???).

Flicky and Lee are back to the couch area.
Dram's any% run is going to be hype!

They will get to 400k at least....wow, I don't think anyone could have predicted that.

Spikevegeta did, he said to Trihex at the start of event that they could realistically reach 400k and he replied: "you're drunk" but yeah it's really crazy how much money people have donated this year. I can only imagine how big this will grow if it keeps going like this every year.

I had no idea what speedrunning was before this marathon, but I'm really impressed by the ability and imagination these guys have. They're making my childhood efforts look utterly pathetic while raising a ton of money for a great cause. Will definitely tune in next year.

Did you see his face at the end of the run? Was terrible to see.

This is what happens when the MOB focuses on shitting on people during an entire run, even though it wasnt shitting on Cosmo the negative stuff takes domination over positive reinforcement. He still did really well and talked about it. He talks about shit about 10000x more than Siglemic and people aren't crying then.

Twitter's not loading for me -- what does it say?

How was this the viewer's fault for Mirrord's intrusive commentary?

So what was the Cosmo situation? I was gone the last hour or so.

Overly talking is one thing, but not even being quiet in "serious time" hard bosses and what not is a little much.

So basically Cosmo wants to commentate the games he runs because he is amazing at explaining everything and making it very entertaining, but Mirrord_ kept butting in with random comments and cutting off Cosmo quite a bit. Cosmo asked him to tone it down and Mirrord_ did... for maybe 10 minutes of a 5 hour speed run. You could see the frustration on Cosmo's face every time he got cut off during the run and it was really wearing on him.

I'm guessing he read chat / twitter / this thread with the incessant negativity and got bummed.

He had an awesome first third of the run, and then was disappointed for slowing too much due to mistakes in the rest of the run - even though his final time is still pretty strong. We should tweet to him to cheer him up.
edit: Oh, I didn't realize he really had a problem with that guy talking... I also thought he shouldn't be so critical about every detail like he was, but assumed they are good friends if Cosmo allows it.

I am the only speed runner who understands Tetra master...
Rane doesn't count he gets distracted too much by Tetra master
