It's a nonstop stream of marahatohing games for a full week. There will be games that you probably don't like....
Plus the whole thing is for a good cause...to say because they speedrun & shouldn't deserve to have kids...
wtf? Nice logic.

I just think games like FF9 or SC2 Brutal don't belong into such an event. I don't even understand the appeal of this ff9 run... because the appeal of ff was allway mainly the story... which is skipped. The appeal for most of us is probably some sort of nostalgia. Seeing our favourite cities, dungeons, and hearing our favourite music, etc. The runners are pretty interesting as well imo, which makes it fun to watch.

Well, the appeal is to see how fast they are and to listen to the guys i guess. Also to see some tricks. Well, you don't need to watch it. Not sure if i'll like the Zelda runs either, i guess it's a thing of taste. SC2 singleplayer was also more of a game for the story and for the challenge at the first 1-2 playthroughs, so it's no wonder some might find it boring.

These runs don't appeal to me either so I just watched the Contra and Castlevania runs that I missed. Why do you feel the need to complain about it? Just don't watch. Just because you "LOVE watching speedruns" doesn't entitle you to complain about a great event picking games you don't like.

Like hitting a pixel in a jump or w/e. Some people like watching speedruns that just abuse clitches like there is no tomorrow. Some people like to optimize every single step that saves a few seconds in a 10 hour game (also remembering them). I like the speedruns with "mechanical skills" the most, too. Just don't watch the rest.

Nevermind the stutter stepping tricks they have to do to minimize encounters, or the optimizations they have to do to take the fastest possible routes through dungeons or learn certain skills, etc. All of that isn't interesting to you, I guess. Fine. There are plenty of other streams and games coming up. All the Zelda stuff coming up might be more of your liking then?

A ton of the magic and interest is in optimization that you never really see on screen. Watching routes evolve through such a immensely complex game is fascinating, more so if you understand the kind of planning that goes into that. It's definitely not the same sort of exciting that watching a frame perfect jump or whatever is. People enjoy games in different ways, let them do it however they want. Don't like it? Don't Watch =p

![]() I've enjoyed this run because the personalities are interesting, it's a nostalgic game, and I appreciate how fine-tuned this really is. I probably enjoyed watching the high-skill games such as Yoshi's island more, but this is still a lot of fun for me, not to mention it's a great cause.

A Final Fantasy speedrun is only 3 things: LUCK BASED, BORING, TEDIOUS. I loved the castlevanias, i loved probotector or how it is called before it (the shooting game),Goldeneye awesome, tons of other games i don't know were cool... But this? It's like something is shitting a giant big tard on this whole event....... Btw: I also disliked SC2 because it also requires no skill, just memory in 90% of the missions..... Seriously... AAAGH.. I want to like this marathon and then they come up with such crap. I mean.. Let's have a "win solitaire 100 times in a row" run! It's at least as exciting as sc2 or ff9... I even kinda like ff9 (don't love it) but this is just a friggin waste of time. Btw: I donated... i would just take it back and donate directly if i would have known this crap would take THAT long... User was warned for this post Why are you so angry man? They have to fill 7 straight days with speed-runs, chances are they're going to do a couple of bad games or games that don't appeal to everyone in the speed-run format. If you don't like it, and you obviously don't, just turn the stream off and come back when they're playing a game you're excited to see. I'm not really interested by the FF9 speedrun either, but I wouldn't say it's "shitting a giant turd" on the whole event. Doesn't that seem excessive to you? Also to assert that the players themselves are genetically defective is an...interesting...response to say the least.
