Edit: Oh, I missed that each series gets a poll and then one of them is inserted into the bracket... Hmm, unconventional but fair. Props to you for that one. (But where's my Galcon and Angband, damn you!  )On the other hand, this is a popularity contest, so I don't mind people voting in a biased manner. It will work out nicely anyway. And there's still very exciting stuff already. Dwarf Fortress v Black and White. DF needs to win...  | ||

W3D was original, and involved shooting zombie nazi's. Doom was a reskinned W3D. Same thing results in Commander Keen losing | ||

I didn't realize Civ 2, that I nominated, lost to Civ 4. Same for Portal. Edited my previous post. You still missed two of my favourite games that no-one else has heard about | ||

I think the reason is I've never heard of the game, and looking up "Galaxy Conquest" on Wikipedia and Google yielded no results. Also, your post was on page 13 (!!!) and by that time, I was kind of in a "screw that game" state of mind. | ||

I can understand the frustration ^^ I'm still confused as to when one votes for what, though. Looking at the brackets, they look much better than the actual polls (that I was going by). So, even though you have the brackets, you could edit the OP to emphasize that people ought to be looking at those instead of the polls. As for Galcon: http://www.galcon.com/classic/history.html ^^ Try the 87 version with a few friends, it's glorious back-stabbing. P.S. Songs will be written about Tetris v Pac-Man. | ||

Doom is much, much more advanced than a simple "reskin". Not to mention that the whole "science meets mythology" with shooting down cyborg demons with plasma rifles is much more original than shooting nazis. | ||

Yeah, the graphics engines aren't even the same.........I mean, Wolfenstein 3D will always be the game that got me into games, but Doom was a pretty massive step forward. | ||

You guys all suck Well, not the 2 other guys that voted Angband, but the rest of you, you do.Some other comments - Never before in my life have I used the meme "hurr durr" but it's so very appropriate for a faceoff between Mario party and Angry Birds. - I'm also proud to announce that I'm old. I voted for Duke Nukem over TF2. - Why not just rename Amnesia "the Day9 screaming game"... + Show Spoiler + Voted against Black and White solely because it beat Dwarf Fortress. Yes, I'm bitter | ||

Not kidding. Freelancer isn't even a wart on pimple on the arse of Freespace 2. None of the games in that category besides Sim City 2000 are. Some really lovely games there though. Master of Orion 2, Shining Force, UFO Enemy Unknown. Sigh. So many fun games... | ||
