it creeped me the hell out though. there's just something odd about making new species that i never quite got used to. well, new species like glowing pigs. i don't find broccoli disturbing at all. | ||

They basically test disease on just single cells of these pigs, or inject pig antibodies and T cells into diseased human cells in an effort to cure these diesases. Since the pigs cells are all green they can see under a microscope exactly what the pig T cell does. By observing these processes, both how the disease fights us and how we fight the disease scientists hope to get some new ideas or understandings. Scientists can already do this, they just normally mark things with a radioactive dye. As far as I can tell this is just to make it a little easier, plus some things cant be marked with radioactive dyes. | ||
