It's a good phone, just that the design is outdated and the camera is average and non stabilized. XZ Premium with the 4k screen should be around the same price too.

Sounds amazing. First smartphone that I actually look at and think "I want that", rather than "I'll look into that when my current phone stops being adequate".

I desperately want that Razer phone. I feel like they just kinda casually walked into the market and took first place. What phone would people prefer over this? Let's assume the camera is on par with others and take it from an "everything else" perspective.

Edit: never mind it is enormous. My 6P is too big and I ain't doing this shit again.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS8/comments/7aan2w/oreo_beta_now_officially_live_in_the_uk/

Samsung currently beta-testing Oreo on Galaxy S8/S8+ devices. Will be nice to see what Oreo can being, although I am personally not one that hangs on the lock with OS updated.

In another note, I just got a wireless charger for my phone, and I now wonder why I did not get one earlier.

gaming phone that lacks 3.5 mm jack and has to move the DAC to an adapter wtf. Can we all use a standardized usb-c to 3.5 mm adapter please

also ip67 is a note worthy omission but it also costs $700 USD (cheaper than other flagships)

i still dont get the idea of wireless charging

it's SUPER SLOW and SUPER SUPER SLOW compared to quick charge

want to use your phone ? TOUGH LUCK no charge

the only benefit is that you put it and it charges, but my op3t charges sooo fast (like literally from 0-5 to 75-80 in 40 minutes, that i just dont see the benefit

Yes, wireless charging is not as fast as plugging your phone into a cable (even non-fast charging ones). But I never expected it to either. To me it is about the convenience really, especially as I don't use my phone very much once I'm home from work

I leave my phone on my desk while I work. It slowly drains battery while it's sitting there doing its thing. If I had a wireless charging pad on my desk, I could leave work at the end of the day with 100% battery instead of 70%. Similarly, when I get home rather than plugging in my phone to charge overnight, I can leave it on my nightstand charging pad and it's back to 100% in the morning.

Wireless charging is not meant to replace cables if you want a fast charge, it's more about constantly topping up the phone so you will never need to fast charge it before going out.

Do you not have a charging cable at your desk? I just keep mine plugged in at work. The two situations you described seem like instances where using a cable is trivially easy.

One thing I like about wireless charger is that I don't need to plug/unplug the cable many times. I walk away from my work desk a lot, and having to plug/unplug the cable many times feel like a way to potentially damage the charging port

The whole point of wireless charging is to avoid that.

That is exactly one of those situations where the advantage of wireless charging really shows. While not as fast as a wire, it is convenient when you have to move around a lot.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. In my eyes, wireless charging is significantly less convenient. Being able to hold my phone and move around while it is charging is pretty nifty. And if the idea is that you have a cord and a pad, why in the world would I ever want to lose desk space to some pad with a wire hooked up to it?
