O man! I know this is a terrible thing but what a thing it is! I live by the philosophy "Your life is for the story time for your grandkids" and what a story you have! Now I'm jealous of you... Good luck finding work, hope you got work at outback steak house, it's pretty nice, they eat Kangaroos(jk) Gl again. Also a suggestion: Write a diary, write down what you did each day and keep it, it'll be a great memory.

the problem is that im not a very solid guy, i mean i'm kinda skiny and not strong at all so that makes me kinda afraid of doing that alone
I weigh only 115 lbs, 5'4 in height, and I went backpacking solo through europe. If you're really worried, go with a friend :p.
hey if i backpack through europe for 3 month with 3000$CAD would the trip be possible? and what should i prepare?
I don't know what the currency rates for CAD are for USD, and also what the exchange rate is against the euro. I planned my trip like this: I had about 2.5k USD after I bought my eurail pass, airplane tickets, backpack/tent/sleeping bag, guide book, etc. I figured if I spent under $50 a day (and you can get by with much less), that would last me about 2 months.
I went to europe for 3 months, and limited myself on the cash I brought with me on purpose, so I would end up working and having a much more 'real' experience. Although it was a lot of fun for me, for some people, that won't do. If you plan to do a lot of typical touristy things like go to all the museums, monuments, and eat out a lot, you will spend up to 75-100++ a day easily. The closer you go into a major city, the more expensive things becomes. Even public transportation adds up after a while.
As for preparation, there are tons of things to do, but ill list a couple things off the top of my head. Plan your trip very well ahead of time, with a general route in mind, and make sure your eurail pass covers all the countries. Depending on where you're going, you will want to buy a guide book/language books (If you plan to visit only the major cities like I did, if you speak English you wont have much trouble communicating, but if you plan to go to random small towns and villages, you better be prepared). I would want to avoid the peak tourist season, which is spring - summer if possible, and maybe go early spring or fall. Rates for hostels are much cheaper then.
Equipment wise, it depends on what you want to do, and when you plan to go. I bought a small 2 person tent and a sleeping bag, so I could save even more money by staying at camping grounds (cheaper than hostels), or even camping out in random fields. I had a poncho/raincoat just in case, and couple changes of clothes, guide book (Lonely Planet - very good imo), toiletries (very expensive to buy in big cities as I found out), water bottle (if you plan to go off the beaten track, then you might want to buy a filter/iodine tablets, etc), a huge ass backpack, extra pair of sneakers (didnt think i'd use them, but came in handy when it rained).
Im probably forgetting a ton of things, but those are what come to mind right now. PM me if you have any other questions.
talking about me? I had plenty, haha. Too many to list them all, but... here are some:
- someone tried to mug me at knife point in a deserted street in Amsterdam, and as I was running away, I thought I was trapped, so I jumped into the canal and got all wet for no reason.
- missed the train, and ended up sleeping overnight at a train station. Funny thing was, there were a lot of shady people around at that time, so me and this African guy I ran into who lives in Italy (professional marathon runner whos sponsored by his town) took turns sleeping, while the other guy kept a lookout.
- got on the wrong train by accident, then somehow started a fight between some nice italian people (who were defending me) and the conductor who was trying to extort money from me. They threw me off the train on the next stop in the middle of nowhere. t_t lol
- I pitched my tent one night on a slightly sloped ground, and when it started raining, the pegs got loose, and I ended up rolling down the entire campground.
- got robbed couple times in hostels, but thank god I didnt lose my money/passport/rail tickets. I lost all my toiletries, some clothes, watch, swiss army knife, flashlight. t_t
but, even with these difficulties, I had a blast :p, in fact, it only added to the experience ^^
Haha, wow, what a long, twisted, and hilarious topic. Around half way through I thought I knew what was going on...and now that I'm at the end I'm not so sure anymore. o_0

Since we're on the subject, isn't WCG going to be held next year in Italy or something? This is a pre-invite to anyone who'd like to hang out here (in Sicily) a week or something then travel with me up to mainland to WCG(?)
