now for all people who think I am too harsh, let me give you two quick examples: showing up for calculus exam and not knowing the necessary condition of when a function has a maximum/minimum showing up for calculus exam and not knowing how to multiply a matrix with a vector (and those two were people who already failed the exam once)

And people who think that somethings don't need logical or rationall explanation. For example religion or, or... Basicly i can only think of religion (sure there are more :D). If you can't give a good explanation for why you believe or think something, then you should reconsider finding something else to believe in. -Teoma.... Nah just kidding

I still think fireplace is a good thing, even thought it clearly isn't. What really grinds my gears at the moment is that you can not have a discussion about sc2 without it dwindling down into a "X race is OP" or "Stop whining" argument. edit: Continuing on the poster above me about advertisement. In countries like mine theres generally only one advertisement on at the same time. This means that if you want to watch a video on youtube, any streams, any videos on any articles, any vods, etc etc. then you will see that one advertisement over and over again for an entire month. I am getting really tired of that fucking block of cheese turning into a box of paste now.

I am getting really tired of that fucking block of cheese turning into a box of paste now. I actually think i understood the fireplace delusion In that many people would ignore the dangers in exchange for the enjoyment it brings (correct me if i am wrong) But from what i gathered, the analogy also explained maybe unintentionally why we don't need fireplaces/religion in our modern days. Fire helped build civilisation as it said, but now we can easily do by with only a minimum of it, at least we don't NEED it for home use (although i have to agree, it's a helvetes nice thing to look at) since we have so many other ways of keeping warm, create light. Personally i can actually perfectly understand the logic behind it too, since i feel the same way for cars. I love driving my brothers gas eating Volvo 242 from 1979, and i know that i would never enjoy driving in the same way in a hybrid/electric car (or whatever is most enviromental). But i still know the enormous pollution causes by cars and fossile fuel in general, but still wouldn't trade those cars for hybrid. I know its completly unsensible, but i still love to drive them :D My opinion on these "fireplace matters" is that the government or whatever is in the power to do so, must simply force these things out of society, even though people like me would be against it. We will most likely adapt to the new situation and wonder how we could be so obsessed with it in the first place :D I think this would be comparable to the abolishment of rasicm (since TL seems obsessed with this at the moment), or with removing norse religions and replacing it with christianity. Completly agree with you though. That magician with the cheese is starting to annoy me :D
