Just find one that's cheaper. Check out a local eye doctor, like Pearl Vision or w/e is where you live. On December 17 2012 16:36 Klunssila wrote: Hey do you people think it's better to buy clothes after christmas? I saw some nice sales, but I don't know if they're going to be even cheaper after holidays... That depends largely on what type of clothing you're buying. Winter clothing gets cheaper at the end of winter, and so on. Things like OCBD's, chinos, etc, those are pretty much priced the same all year round, ime. Right now, they have some killer deals all over the place for all-year 'round clothing; I was out yesterday looking, and a lot of places are running 30-60% off. Granted that most pricing gets increased throughout the year so that they can give a sale and make it seem better than it is, it still brings it to very reasonable levels, probably as good a deal as you'll find at any other time (they typically run a lower percentage throughout the rest of the year). So short answer: now is a good time to buy, imo. Just for instance, I bought a t-shirt, a long sleeve t-shirt, and some 2MX shirt (not technically that line any more) for $90 from Express a few weeks back. They run the buy one get one half off deal all the time, but the 2MX shirt is $70 regular price all year, the t-shirts are $30 each. Even if it's not the absolute best deal I can get (it's not necessarily, they run good deals around back to school time too), it's a damn fine deal, imo.

The shirt should be a lot shorter if you're going to wear it out too. There's way too much fabric poking out from the bottom of the jacket... not a good look, imo. Shorter shirt, or tuck it. And relax a little! You look angry with clenched fists. On December 17 2012 14:33 Focuspants wrote: Recent WIWT. Everything is supposed to be drawn together. I think it's sharper/cleaner looking that way.

Take advantage of sales. Even winter stuff is gonna be at 30-40% for the holidays, which is pretty damn good. The longer you wait, the more you risk them not having your size.

Would love to find some other denim nerds and didn't really want to crowd this thread with just denim talk.. Hope some of you like it! nudies hasn't been relevant to denim enthusiasts since 2008. they're like the lucky jeans of the selvedge world. people buy them more for the brand than the actual denim quality. you also didn't explain selvedge correctly. it's made like that because the looms seal off each piece of fabric automatically and that way it prevents unraveling/fraying. selvedge is a paradox with in itself because it was originally implemented to cut costs/waste of fabric. In an attempt to save material costs, it gave rise to an arguably higher quality of weaving. also Japanese denim is better because the last surviving original looms exported from the US are located there, hence leading to a greater number of experienced artisans located in that country. for more enthusiast brands I suggest including 3sixteen, pure blue Japan, sugar cane, lvc, eternal, momotaro, oni, studio d'artisan, and rag n bone. for beginners cheap Monday and unbranded are pretty good. I think uniqlo had a selvage line but I'm not sure what happened to it. btw unbranded is coming out with cheap 21oz denim, and might be worth 80bux to fuck around with if you don't wanna pay for elephants or samurais. Each brand has their perks and downfalls, and should probably do a writeup for it. I also suggest including an explanation for different types of dye (sulfur based and natural indigo), a starter guide to wearing them including soaks and wash methods, a guide to tailoring and shrinkage, and most importantly clearing up common misconceptions. Two I can think of immediately are 'isn't it disgusting if I don't wash for a long time?' and 'wait my jeans are fading does that mean they're selvedge?' aka the difference between raw and selvedge. it's not a bad start though. You won't be able to achieve that 'sharp' look unless you buy a slim fit cut, size down and get lucky, or go bespoke.

Your Nudie comment simply isn't true, while they may be a more main stream brand their high end jeans are still accepted as being good quality and their fits are still widely popular. I know people who work for more 'elite' denim companies who still have Nudies as a part of their collection. I have a pair of Momotaro's and am familiar with every brand you've listed, I just thought that for an introduction to raw denim post I would start with lower price point, easily accessible brands. Uniqlo just bought J Brand denim and have heard they are shifting around their branding to accommodate for that change. You said I didn't explain selvedge correctly, then discuss points I basically said in regards to ravelling/fraying but said ''looms naturally close eachother off'' (which I'll admit might be a more simple and efficient way of explaining it than I used, I might take that), then explained how the last remaining shuttle looms were exported to Japan (which I discussed in depth). I say right in the OP I am going to make a separate post that goes into the details of manufacturing denim when I have more time, but for now I am trying to convey the point that shuttle looms and old manufacturing techniques produce a higher quality product than more modern means of mass production. Please don't critique an OP that you skimmed through briefly. PS. Unbranded is ran by Naked and Famous.
