This is pretty much my highschool getup: a pair of red/blue vans (got 2 pairs for the price of one at a local surf shop) a pair of levi jeans from khols i got for like 25$ usually a plain T shirt with no logos. (i have like 3-4 different colors that i got just off the shelf at target) shit feels great and its cheap and keep syou up in the fashion enough. | ||

It also depends on what stereotype you want to play or what image you want to express to other people. The general mainstream trend right now is skinny jeans, casual/athletic shoes with flat soles, and some other things I don't know the name too. If you don't like converse, get Vans (like the guy above). In terms of jean size, 511 I think is the trend. Getting fashionable shoes does improve your fashion image. Wearing running shoes would probably offset anything fashionable you're wearing (imo). Take everything I just wrote with a grain of salt though, I'm in high school myself. In regards to shirts, plain t-shirts with no logos are usually worn by people that...let's just say are hispanic (I live in the southwest USA, sorry if offending anyone), you can pull it off though. I would recommend t-shirts with something on it. Polo shirts fit the more nerdy asian stereotype (I'm asian, I no longer wear polos and baggy jeans). But don't ever buy really expensive stuff because it's in fashion. There are a lot of great deals out there, you can still be frugal and look good. | ||

I'm an average white boy and I really enjoy wearing plain shirts. I think the real stereo types are if they really shitty and super big. Just a normal shirt (imo) is fine. | ||

Solid color t-shirts are worn by an absurdly large number of people, are you referring to the super-XXL tall-tee's or are you just tip-toeing around calling someone poor for wearing solid color t-shirts or something? When people say t-shirts, they're referring to t-shirts that fit them. If you're in high school, fashion isn't really a thing. Like you mentioned through the thinly veiled racism, high school is more about dressing to your clique than anything else. I wouldn't worry too much about how you look in high school though, it doesn't matter that much. Dressing too nicely makes you look like a tool, dressing too shitty makes you look like a bum, white tee and jeans is a solid middle-ground. If anything, I would experiment with opened button-up shirts with the sleeves rolled up to your forearms. Some shirts are designed with this in mind and make it easier with buttons on the sleeves and a little strap that keeps it up for you. Keep the button ups light in color, don't aim for designs that's tacky, but mix it up. You don't want to be the guy that I was in high-school who looked exactly the same every day and you don't want to make yourself look like you excessively care about how you look. H&M is a nice place to find shirts like that. | ||

If I was in high school now I think I'd want a pair of CDB which I would wear most days. Then a pair of boat shoes for when I'm wearing shorts. I agree leather dress shoes would look out of place in high school but CDB or boat shoes would be fine at least in the high school I went to. As far as plain t shirts go they are perfectly acceptable for high school as long as they fit properly. There's a big difference between a fashionable plain t shirt and a xxl tall tee on a 6 foot 180# guy | ||

The thing I don't like about it is that is the beige near the top, otherwise the sole is great, and the design is pretty cool. The maker is either Alfred Sargent or Crockett & Jones as far as I know. Got a pair of black from Mezlan, a brown pair from Bally, and a burnish brown (don't know why i said burgundy) from Cole Haan, so I'm looking for something much more casual. | ||

Also a sale going on at J.crew atm - 30% off all Final Sale items. Sizes are running out super fast, I was going to order some of those club shorts I've had my eye on for a while, but they only had a 35 as the smallest size when I wear a 33. The first two looks will not draw any attention, but everything is well fitted, etc. The next few looks are great - layering is a simple way to look good without looking like you're trying. I also really like that shirt, it's flashy. Not a big fan of jean shorts in general! | ||

I was taken aback by the beige top at first, but the more I look at them the more I like it. It definitely makes the shoe more casual, which is what you are wanting. It also makes them "pop," so you'll also turn some heads when wearing them, too, and that's always a plus (in my opinion). Your pants will cover some of the beige too, making more of an accent and not so jarring. The rest of the shoe is sick too, love all the detail. Would you wear these to work? I'm just a college student so I don't know much about what's okay for office wear. | ||

You don't need any but I also like their 1969 jeans They have a 20% off promo that ends today. (so $44 chinos) Not sure how quality compares to the other brands mentioned. | ||
