Does anyone have any recommendations for tote-style bags? I wear lots of denim (half my wardrobe is Denim and Supply, and I wear one of their big parkas, goddamn cold here). I don't know what to go for. Most denim stores seem to offer like an over the shoulder canvas deal but I can't wear one over my parka.

So I want a bag I can carry, tote-style, but maybe something I can use all year round.

Something like this would be nice for now + Show Spoiler +

but summer is not far away. Can I get away with it in just shirts and slacks?

Also, bought a pair of the Winter 2011 Gourmet Noves yesterday, so fresh. Love 'em.

Boes nice. Going for the smalls was a solid choice that shirt fits real well. I also like the 511 chinos on you. Although they do look fine in the second picture.

Thanks. Yeah the fit on these is gr9, I was pleasantly surprised. I normally wear 511 but I was in Khol's and I thought I'd try on the 521's just to see how they fit. They're tapered so they're made to fit people that have thicker thighs, etc. I'm skinny as fuck so that is more than likely the reason. I have a few pairs of 511 and I'm going to be investing in some APC's next paycheck - looking forward to it.

Hey guys need some advice.
Going to be attending my cousins wedding in about a months time. My younger brother and I will be flying over to Sydney to attend. This'll be the first wedding for both of us where we are not attending as kids so neither of us knows how to roll.

So first up my brother. He's 16 175cm tall. Skinny asian. I'm thinking slim black suit but as I've said i don't know shit. He needs everything from shirts to shoes.

Me. I'm 20 180cm tall 73kg. Currently have a dark/steel grey suit is that ok? I need to check if it still fits I've done a lot of bulking up recently. My Q's are what what colour shirt? and if the suit is ok is it insane to wear a black vest with a grey suit?

Let me know if you need more details.
Thanks in advance guys.

OT: Also i'd like to hear suggestions for wedding ranging from cheap to expensive.

First off, for your brother, Black suits are more suited to funerals and nightlife, not weddings. You could make it work, but my advice is if it's going to be the first and only suit he'll own for a while, go with navy or gray. They are much more versatile than black, and he will be able to wear it to more events and not seem out of place.

As far as shirts, you can't go wrong with white. Light blue is also a traditional and acceptable choice. A light yellow or pink could work as well. You have some leeway here but keep in mind it's a wedding; you don't want a bold red or orange or black that will draw attention to yourself in a negative way. Save those shirts for the club. If your shirt has color make sure it looks ok with your tie choice.

Shoes: You basically have 3 color options: Black/Brown/Burgandy. Traditionally, suits should be worn with a Oxford Balmoral-style shoe (as opposed to a Blucher or Derby). Weddings are fairly formal, so I would stick with the former style. Google if you don't know the difference. In terms of versatility, a black cap-toe with no brogueing will be acceptable with almost anything, from semi-formal (black-tie) down to casual, but brown or burgandy with some decoration is perfectly fine at a wedding. Make sure your belt matches.

For you: Dark gray should be ok, balance it out with a light colored shirt. I wouldn't wear a vest that didn't come with the suit.

Step one- Try on your suit on ASAP ideally post a fit pic here to be critiqued. A month is enough time to get a suit tailored if need be, but you don't want to wait till last minutes, good tailors are busy.

A dark grey or charcoal suit is acceptable for all but the most formal weddings unless the invitation says other wise you are fine. Id say no to the vest though. Color of the shirt and tie is going to depend a lot upon the formality of the wedding. A formal night time wedding in a church you'd probably want a white shirt and a conservative dark colored tie. Outdoor wedding during the day its time to bust out the lavender shirt and a more outgoing tie. Give more details on the wedding on I can give you more ideas. Dark grey suit you should have black shoes. Socks should match your pants if you go the conservative route, but could match your shirt or tie if you go less conservative, but they should never match your shoes.

For your brother, a wedding is one of the rare circumstances where black suits are acceptable and even encouraged if it is a very formal wedding. That said if he is done growing I would go for a more versatile color that could serve him well for job interviews as well. Charcoal or navy are the best choices IMO. If he is still growing, then I would have no problem going black, maybe even consider a rental but you have to be careful lots of rentals are crap. Of course slim is good. Black or charcoal suit, again he would want black shoes. If the wedding setting is more casual and he goes with a navy suit id recommend brown shoes.

As far as where to buy suits, I have no clue for Australia. But avoid synthetic materials and look for 100% wool suits.

Have a look around Myers or David Jones (Australian equivalent of Macy's). Be careful of the salespeople as sometimes they will try to sell you some ugly shit. Where are you in Australia? If you're in Melbourne you should have no trouble finding a reputable men's clothing store and tailor. I think it's still consIdered the fashion capital of the southern hemisphere (could be wrong). If you're not in Sydney or Melbourne you might have a harder time, but a good department store should meet most of your needs

Great deal, I highly recommend the walnut calf. Goes great with everything from jeans to a navy suit.

I don't think there's another store in the world that carries as many brands of nice shoes. Gonna spend a lot of time there when I go back...

What kind of haircut d'you think would suit my face?

My hair is generally a little more... feathery, but I had just woken up from a nap, so its a little flatter.

For the most part I just can't decide on anything, so gimme some opinions before I go mad. ^_^

Honestly just try a bunch of things.

I tried a few hair styles and I ended up keeping about 3 of them that I use depending on what I'm wearing.

When in doubt copy George Clooney. But it depends on how your forehead looks.

Y'see, I just don't know, because I'm an artist and I'm really trying to acquire a artsy image, but I'm also not entirely sure what exactly would fit my face in regards to more... artsy hair cuts.

Its a dilemma.

Plus, I've had long hair for a LOOOOONG time, and its grown on me (ha. ha.) but I've been told I look good in short hair, but I personally don't like my jawline because its a little wider on the sides than I like.

Picking a haircut has been the bane of this two week time span. >_<

I'm not exactly sure how to phrase this but, doesn't actively trying to acquire an artsy image defeat the purpose of having an artsy image? When I think artsy, I think "I wear it like this because I can."

On the flip side, you can just pull a clooney hair-cut or some other clean cut and have the added bonus of surprising people with your talent. I wouldn't emphasize the fact that I'm an artist, I would let my art emphasize me.

Hmm, I dunno how I describe this, but I have this image for myself, for the most part I always try to inject a piece of my personality into whatever I'm doin', I try to talk in a more genial fashion via text, much like I'd talk in real life, and I generally have this overarching image of myself I'm trying to actively achieve.

Artsy is really an off thing for me to have said, I'll try being as complete and concise as I can.

For the most part I think of myself as a highly casual person, so I want a haircut that really embodies this casual side of myself.

I'm not sure that the Clooney cut really embodies this casualness I'm aiming to achieve, thats my first concern.

As far as the haircut is concerned I'm really mostly concerned about my jawline, because its ever so slightly wider than I'd like, and I'm not sure how well that would pan out with the Clooney.

Not only that, but I'm also of the opinion that my forehead was on the longer side, which further worries me.

Just bought some CDB's and I thought I'd post them on here. I bought them used off of Amazon Warehouse for $60, so I was a little nervous that they would be scuffed like crazy or not in good condition. I was very pleased by their quality though. The soles are dirtier from me wearing them for 2 days than from when I got them, and the leather is in good shape. Moral of the story, don't be afraid to buy used leather shoes, especially from Amazon! Also, loving the thread guys, keep up the good work!

edit: I usually wear 9's in sneakers, so I bought a size 8 and they fit like a glove. I definitely would recommend going a size down for CDB's.

Looking good Cats, would you say you have narrow feet? I only go down half size in CDB, but I have kinda fat feet.
Your chinos look like the perfect length IMO. From what I can see that looks like the start of a very good look.

Thanks james! Yeah I have really narrow feet, so a full size down was a good choice for me. And my chinos are Levi's 511 trousers. I swear by them (have them in gray and navy too), best fitting pair of pants I've ever owned.
