I'm pretty sure most of those look way better on a black mannequin (+pins in the back) than they ever will on a real person. Nothing wrong with trying it out but I've rarely seen success stories with asian produced fast fashion.

April77 is fairly cheapish on the denim spectrum. I like their joeys because I'm like stick thin and they fit really well. Fits TTS.

17.5 is probably what i need. 15.5 was a bit too tight.
i think my endgame for now is 6 pairs outside of athletic stuff. 3/6 currently.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a pair of acne max stay cash on tbs. I tried on the ace cash but not feeling the strong taper. I've always wondered about end game black denim a la SLP or Dior but I never understood the cuts/sizing/waxing (can anyone enlighten me), not to mention they're not as accessible.

i have some regular free 3.0 for lifting lol.
waxing is just a coat of wax on the outside to make it shinier. just a different texture/look.
SLP was TTS for me. if you have a store near you just go try it on. dunno about Dior since the men's is only in LA.
Cuts are all slim, but andy posted the different cuts above. im pretty sure they correspond to the leg opening at the bottom - 15.5/17.5/19.5/21cm circumference, so progressively tapered. i can post me trying on SLP 15.5s if you want. very slim all around, almost skin tight at my calves. but oh so good.
I also have the max cash - super happy with them though I actually haven't worn them in a while...

don't lift in frees as they have compressible soles that are good for running but awful for stuff like squats and deadlifts. Need something with a hard sole like converse or random adidas basketball shoes.

I dont squat anyway since my lower back is awful and i always end up with bad form. I stick to body weight squats (pistols and jump), i deadlift sometimee though so that might be an issue.
Slp felt thinner, but better quality. Cut was very particular bc hedi.
Acne is a bit thicker. Im not sure if its selvedge actually. Ill take some pics when i get home and post some comparisons. Its been fading a little bit. Not really noticable except close up or under a certain light. def sulfur dye (fading kinda grey). Cut wise, def bigger below the knee. A little more room in the thigh, but not a ton more.
I dont remember sizing. I think i have acne in 30 (tts), but the 31 slp felt a little better. Slp stretches more tho so id probably buy 30 as well.
If you have an slp and a barneys boutique near you, try both out. You def feel the 2x price in the slps but its on you to determine if worth
