My broken in raws are like infinitely more comfortable than ball busting levis (though I haven't tried the 501 stfs yet). Neither of my raws are broken in enough for comfort though

I have a pair that I've washed once in 10 months (at 6mo mark) and wear every day and they can still stand on their own =/

Dresscode question: What's "smart casual"
At the end of each month all the employees who had their birthday that month get invited for lunch with our general manager. And that's supposed to be the dresscode.

Not heavy weight. Just 14oz. But man they are crispy
Smart casual = no tie. it's actually pretty vague.

It's super vague as said above. Not sure if it's much different in Europe, but here in Singapore smart casual is mostly just covered shoes, long pants and collared shirt (polo w/e), but different venues have their own definition, like some require trousers+dress shirt-tie. Best bet is just go with the latter one.

man i never check this site anymore ever since they split off liquiddota from main site
N&F has been experimenting with stuff like this forever, some of it is real gimmicky and some of it is actually decent. I think the idea of core-dyed denim is pretty cool, but I don't like the result with a red core. A royal blue core would give a better result because with red/green, it simply looks like a paint job gone bad.
the company tried to do this with a red weft twill a couple years back, but that ended up flopping. the different color weft for denim is pretty underwhelming due to the nature of denim weaves - the weft is alternatively woven under two layers of warp threads.
to clarify, the weft is the horizontal portions of the weave, and warp is the vertical. typically, you dye the verticals and leave the horizontals white, but because the warps appear a lot more than the weft threads do, the horizontal threads do not make much of an impact. Hence, their previous offerings at fading your denim different colors were very poor.
with the core-dyed threads, the contrast will be much higher, and the end result may be more satisfying for the user.

I think what you're going for is probably boring ocbd + trousers + leather shoes.

What are you guys' thoughts on: John Elliott, Ervell, Epaulet, Surface to Air?
Is there a big difference between a $20 H&M hoodie and a norse/our legacy/reigning champ one? I found a silent hoodie for only a bit more than a reigning champ one but I'm wondering if it would look out of place with jeans and sweatpants, since it's like.. goth ish. I only like it because it's longer than regular hoodies.

There is a massive difference in quality and cut, but whether it's a $150+ difference is debatable.

I'd consider it a net zero. Girlfriend money becomes clothes money.

More questions... sorry for spamming and thanks for responses.
1. I was looking through old posts and saw this:
On December 29 2013 13:24 andyrau wrote:http://hydrogen-1.com/same soles as cp & raf, they'll replace it once it wears down too.
Is this like, legit? Granted they're mostly sold out and the price is the same as on sale CPs. I want a pair of dark upper/white sole sneakers but I'm wondering if black/white will go with jeans or only with other black stuff.
2. Leather jackets. Never owned one, but sorta tempted. I already got a couple of things based on research and forum recs that I wouldn't ordinarily wear but I also don't wanna buy into the standard sufu/sf dress code. Not waiting a year for TOJ but don't wanna drop 1.5k+. Prefer creative but minimalist designs. I saw this list from andyrau
+ Show Spoiler +ekam allsaints
schott lithium homme ToJ takahashi/undercoverism
viridi-anne (?) acne ysl dior
jun hashimoto/wjk kazuyuki kumagai/attachment MMM backlash incarnation bbs rick owens julius MA+ ccp hermes
Anything more specific? Where else can I find good deals besides rakuten (which I don't know how to use), ebay, grailed, and forum markets?
3. Still looking for stuff for summer/fall. I have two EG blazers, some shirts, various ocbds, patterned shirts and tshirts, uniqlo cashmeres, a hoodie, but looking to be more... creative. Not gonna wear cardigans.
4. Overall thoughts on silent damir dorma?
5. Was watching this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1840969/ (Yohji Yamamato documentary) and yes he is respectable and a true artist, etc, but realistically, who can pull it off? Not to mention the price and scarcity. The Y-3 stuff seems overpriced too. Is this another visvim hype driving price things?
6. Where can I get non RO pod shorts?
7. Bookmarked a few blogs, I thought a lot of the stuff here, http://www.style-arena.jp/en/ is pretty creative. But they don't have a lot of menswear and some of the stuff is kinda obscure. Are there any good, North American, and practical as in they actually provide the brand, blogs?
8. Nike tech fleece sweatpants are the best ones I've ever owned.

Rakuten used to be only Japanese, but it has an English site now.
http://global.rakuten.com/en/
It works pretty much like ebay or etsy, in that the stores aren't associated with Rakuten (however, some international shipping is handled by Rakuten) directly and each store sells whatever they want. You sign up and get an account, put in your credit card information, and shop away.
Of course, some shops get their stocks from brick and mortar stores, so you won't be charged until they are ready with the order and will ask you to confirm the order. This one store had me confirm once when the order was placed, once when the order became available, and once to confirm shipping costs.
Google translate is good enough to translate most product pages
(no I will not volunteer to read Japanese for you :p )

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a coat and I was hoping you guys have some ideas. My requirements: -Smart enough to wear to an interview -So that means it has to be long enough to properly cover your jacket when you are wearing a suit -Preferably not too warm -It has to have pockets -Preferably not too bright in color
I know about the short rain coat-ish jackets that a lot of people have but all in all I don't really think they are my style.

3. define creative. find some cool lookbooks or fits and post stuff that interests you. to be fair my summer fits are all going to involve linen so im not going to be particularly creative.
6. i kinda wanna know this too. i dunno where i want to begin with that stuff and nothing in my closet works with my vtb tank (which im thinking about selling since its kinda small for me and doesnt really flow anyway - alex are you interested? )
8. those are probably the 2nd thing im gonna buy next week once i get to niketown...

so a trench coat?
show some pictures of things that might interest you what's your budget? what is your "style"?
i feel like you're looking for a particular piece of clothing without giving us context - it's difficult to help without it. ^^

okay style suit style wise I would definitely say I edge toward classic italian style. Budget wise I'm very open minded when it comes to budget if it is the coat I am looking for
