It made me feel bad about having so much uniqlo. And also are gitman shirts really better than bb? I also don't like Aldens even though it's technically a local brand.

sometimes i realize >50% of what I have on is uniqlo, but its hard not to sometimes. esp as a student i'm not gonna be wearing SLP all the time (or whatever other brand I want). even my fits with more expensive stuff is just like, sneakers denim and some kind of t shirt or ocbd lol. no coin for more expensive stuff :[.

Even aside from value though, I recently got some BB black fleece obcds on sale and they don't fit nearly as well as uniqlo ones, and yea at retail you can get like 7 qlo ones for one BB. Uniqlos pretty much the only brand I feel comfortable ordering online from without checking any measurements.

My bfbbocbd fits pretty well. I dont have a qlo ocbd (i should...) but its def pretty comparable. But i get what you mean, even that needa tailoring whereas my uniqlo flannels and linens dont really.

Im grabbing cotton linen pants soon... Might get 2 and have one cropped.

Also airism is the best

So regarding customs fees, I called fedex and got two charges of around $50 refunded and they basically didn't ask any questions. I told them one of the items was returned, they didn't ask for proof, and another was incorrectly marked as made in overseas. Seems like they don't care or the duty wasn't big enough for them to care.

Also uniqlo obcds are awesome, my favorite casual shirt of theirs. I ended up sending the 2 day old jeans back after BiG said they'd take a look. If they actually exchange them I'll be very impressed.

custom fees are like the random charges you see on your internet/phone bill - if you take the time to call in and complain, they pretty much go away no questions asked, but most people just pay it off regardless to avoid the hassle.

I think BiG will probably end up exchanging them for you if you only wore it 2-3 times.

not a fan of western uniqlo, none of their stuff fits quite the way I want it to.

Any recommendations for sweatpants? Was looking at John Elliot but their black ones don't look that appealing for the price. Are there any other cuts you can recommend besides flathead? Only self edge sells them and I can only exchange for BiG brands. Thanks.

Can we talk blazers? The only blazer I ever had was from armani exchange, so I think it's time for a real one. I would wear it mainly with 2 outfits:

a) single colour tees, slim jeans (black or indigo), simple designer sneakers (white)

and less so with:

b) dress shirts, trousers, oxfords (black or brown)

My suggestions: multi-seasonal weight in dark navy? or black? wool, 2-button? or 3-roll-2?, notch lapel, darted, flap pockets? or patch pockets?, at least 2 interior pockets, horn or mop buttons, no metal/gold/nautical

Any advice on the colour and specs?

Go with a navy or gray (or one each if you can). Not too dark for either as you won't be wearing them in formal situations.

Patch pockets are cool right now but they don't work on all body types nor are they very versatile (they're a very informal style). Flap pockets are the safer choice.

2 buttons, notch lapel for sure. Anything else is too formal. None of the other details really matter. Depending on your price range you can go for mostly wool or a wool/polyester blend. The higher the wool content the better, but there's no shame in a blend for something you are going to wear hard. It will be easier on your wallet as well and you won't feel as bad if you ruin it or you realize you just don't like it that much.

wouldnt personally buy but that's just me

navy/grey 2 roll 3, 2 buttons is my kinda thing, but that's not always a tshirt kinda thing.

for more casual stuff i'd take a 2 button notch in cotton. pockets and vents dont matter (though it'd do patch/side)

I agree that guys should be fresh to death just like dem womenz but don't you think this is overdoing it a little? Apart from suits (with their stricter guidelines) I always feel that as a guy you should just aim for the right color and a good fit while not looking overly flamboyent and you're golden, right?

that's so broad of a definition to aim for. part of this thread is a) a hobby for the 5 or 6 people that post about liking clothes and b) a resource for other people that need to look good for whatever reason. so i dont think its overdoing it at all. this thread is really small compared to SZ or SF or even reddit and you literally wear clothes every day so why not enjoy it

it's an unavoidable consequence, no matter how the fabric is cut

your pants fit differently on your body when you're in different positions, so naturally it has to relax in some places when you're standing, and pulls taught/stretches when you're sitting.

i've been raped by hrmc. what happens if I refuse to pay? My understanding is that the charge includes 20% VAT + some sort of handling charge from Parcelforce. If I opt to return the item to the sender, nobody has to pay VAT, right? What about the Parcelforce fee?
