Obviously my choice would be a pair of Iron Rangers, but I don't really need work boots so I can't really justify spending that much on boots I'll only occasionally wear. What are my options? Here's my list so far: Chippewa boots LL Bean Katahdin Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots Red Wing Iron Ranger Alden Shoe Company makes the best leather boots there are. Expensive but will last you forever and feel better than anything else you've ever owned. Hard to find retailers who carry them though. aldenshoe.com For hiking boots I recommend a pair of high end Vasque backpacking boots. I'm still wearing the same ones I bought 20 years ago. The Sundowner is a classic.

+ Show Spoiler + -1 suit from suit supply (napoli or one of the more conservative cuts) (goes with my Kenneth Cole navy suit) I'm working enough where the suit will get ruined eventually. Yeah, I'll upgrade eventually but I don't have that in my budget for now -8 Charles Tyrwhitt shirts--pretty cheap, not much to say here. Long hours on the job, don't want to ruin anything quality -1 Allen Edmond Park Aves--I have some oxblood Johnston and Murphy's that'll do for a little while, but I'd like to add at least a pair of black shoes to the mix, and hopefully a pair of chestnuts for a bit -A few ties from tiebar -Black belt to go with black shoes -A few pairs of orphan pants, to preserve the longevity of the pants matched with my suits That's sort of it--my budget is only 1500, and obviously I'll expand on my wardrobe as the paychecks start rolling in, but I only have so much cash before then. Any advice on more efficiently distributing my funds? What I have: + Show Spoiler + -1 navy suit from kenneth cole -1 pair of captoe oxbloods from johnston & murphy -1 pair of orphan charcoal pants -1 oxblood belt -a couple shirts -a couple ties

I'd suggest getting another pair of shoes if you can afford them - two pairs is the bare minimum, and I'm currently finding four is not enough (granted one pair is really old and looks like shit). After a couple of months it's worth getting another suitsupply suit to add to your rotation. If the job is ties 4/5 days a week you probably want at least 4 good (read: plain, none of that massively stripey bullshit) ties.

Both are priced at about the same when on sale; don't get either unless on sale. Yeah, I definitely wouldn't I was going with CT because they are slightly cheaper and I am a small guy so their super slim fit was appealing (177 cm, 63 kg), although apparently it's still bulkier than some cut they used to have. I definitely like the fifth avenues as well--I am not much of a shoe guy to be honest. But AE's seem to be comfortable and given my hours that's likely to be important. I was thinking black because they go with gray just fine, as well as charcoal, and I already have the oxbloods to mix up my color combos. Basically, I was under the understanding that everything brown shoes go with, oxbloods do as well and then some (although I really enjoy walnut shoes). What do you guys think of these (for the price): http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF8692_1_40000000001_-1_ nice, or too dark to be versatile?
