2012 is just around the corner guys and girls of TL! I wonder if you too have anything that you want to change or improve. As we are about to end 2011, let's reflect and write down our New Year's Resolution for 2012!
Me first
1. Have a more rigid study schedule 2. Read more, especially the classics, play SC a little bit less 3. less QQ on ladder. No more nerd tears 4. Save more money to buy stuff parents refuse to buy me next year :p 5. Be more patient and kind to girlfriend and have more time for her
1. Hit my fitness goals, which would mean that I'd add 140kg to my squat in only 17 months, as well as a bunch of other stuff. 2. Kick the GF out earlier; gotta get those 8 hours of sleep each night 3. No more beers, no more peer pressure into having a few each month. 4. Take SCII seriously and get good
1. Develop and implement better study habits 2. Finish and release an EP 3. Get a new job I love 4. Save money 5. Be ready to move out by the end of the year 6. Bring alcohol and MDMA consumption down to half of what it was in 2011
1.Masters. Masters or die. 2.Also going to try to accomplish some fitness goals. 3.Maybe start giving a shit about school but still undecided about that. EDIT: added numbers
1. Top class beach body by my Birthday (May 31st). 2. Finish Grade 12 with a 85% average or better. 3. Prepare for real-life more. 4. Go to Australia with my girlfriend next winter. 5. Leave my current shitty $14/h job and enter a non-retail position.
1. Find a stable job. 2. Quit drinking soda (Was going to do this last year but it's so delicious ;_; ) 3. Find a place of my own. 4. Exercise more, get back into shape.
4.0 GPA for last semester. 3.86 at minimum Masters (diamond now) bench: 195 max to 240 max by next august (start of football season) squat: max from ~350 ish now to around 415 by august. get a girlfriend for christ sakes Put on weight. 185 pounds now, want to be 215 by august.
meh i'm not necessarily giving up anything, just trying to add on.
Most of the points have to do with a fundamental flaw in my psychological profile. I get satisfaction from doing various things but I don't get any from being particularly good in them. Also, I have a tendency to get satisfied from making a girl fall for me and not going through with the relationship, which is sad both for me and the girl... SO!
1. Many more books (and find time for them) 2. Much more guitar practicing (and get the group together again) 3. More studying for the university and for the swedish language classes 4. Finally get top dia/masters with my beloved zerg 5. Almost done but I have to set it as a goal here: Get that girl
1. Spend quality time with my gf and daughter and upcoming child 2. at least 300k profit, hopefully run like god and win a MTT 3. No more starcraft 4. Oh and maybe work out, meh T_T
1. follow through on my new years resolution 2. nothing
i win
but seriously not to be a downer or anything 90% of you guys won't follow through on even half of your list... new years resolutions just dont work (for me personally but i'm assuming it applies to most people)
Lose the flab, get my bench up to 2 plate, 4.0 for rest of year, get a good summer job, get a car, master league (probably the most unlikely one here).
This just reminds me of people at the start of every year at uni (college) that say OK THIS YEAR I WILL ATTEND ALL CLASSES, WORK SUPER HARD, AND DO SUPER WELL and then progressively do worse whilst I just admit to myself that I will likely do less and less which is acceptable as long as my results stay up there.
So......
1. Don't come up with a list of resolutions that I am likely not to hold myself to. 2. Work harder to achieve my not so immediate goals.
1. Wake up at 6 on work days, 7 on school days. 2. Get High masters / GM. (Currently mid masters) 3. Start a Sc2 Team 4. Lose 10 lbs. / get a six pack 5. Save money more 6. Upgrade my wardrobe (Going to hard to balance with goal 5 T_T)
I've always believed that...if you're serious about something, you start right there and then. Waiting for magical dates such as these is nothing but an indicator of a severe/acute case of procrastination that will not be addressed whatsoever.
"Kept waiting for tomorrow, then one day tomorrow didn't come"
Quit smoking. Im still gonna have the odd cigar, and ive got one of them e-cigs which im gonna be puffing on when i want. Not arsed about the health aspect at all, its just too expensive to smoke, and a pain in the arse having to go outside in the rain from work/bars etc when i want a cig. Also drop a bit of weight and do a bit more exercise. Not bothered about getting a crazy beach body, just be nice to be able to run more than a couple of miles.
1) Find myself not just a another job, but a Career! 2) Actually follow through with doing p90x everyday 3) Get more than 5 hrs sleep every night @_@ 4) Have a meaningful, long time girlfriend 5) I suck at sc2 so i'm gonna set my sights on top Plat and finally being able to beat my friend
1. Get to my goal weight by my birthday (May 5th) 2. Get to masters! 3. Complete an entire 100 page sketchbook every month. It shouldn't be hard, but it is. >< 4. Complete a portfolio that will be ready by May 2013. 5. Involve myself more into e-Sports, which includes limiting my hours of sleep to 8.
Ive been watching since the beta, bought the game on release and only played about 5 games in total online lol, main reason why i never play is because i dont have the right set up, i was supposed to be moving into my own place sometime this year but things didnt turn out so good.
Well I quit smoking 2 months ago so I want to keep that up 100% (none of those oh well I'll just have this one slip ups)
I want to get up earlier in the morning and get to the point where I have a standard sleep schedule. My last one might sound like a joke but its real: I want to start driving with my left hand instead of right. It will make me look a lot cooler while I'm driving.
1. I'd like to consistantly hit the gym, no more of this 1 month on 3 months off. 2. Get more familiar with SC2, I've always been a fan but I'm not up-to-date with players. 3. Build my credit and get a reliable car. 4. Start college. 5. Get my A+ Certification.
I agree with shawster but hopefully I can pull through this year ^^.
1. Get up to 200 steam games 2. Go to Korea and go to a live Music Bank! (I've gone many times before but keep missing out on music shows!) 3. Finish residency, get in a good position, and start work!
Well its going to be my first time actually trying to do one of these 1. get top 8 masters 2. save my money instead of spending asap 3. get 4.0 by the end of the year 4. be an over all nicer person
1) keep to my fitness crap... ive been abit lazy in the last 2-3 months, pretty much have to start all over so fml 2) try hit dat GM (ironic compared to number 1...stfu) 3) try keep a gf longer then 4 months lulz. 4) no more drinking... i mean no more getting drunk.. fuck this peer pressure shit, dont need to be drunk to have fun. 5) study... GET IN DAT UNI'S ASS
Will actually watch and play attention to basketball for once in my life. I used to consider myself a shoehead, bought many shoes but never cared for the sport.
1. Get a higher paying job. 2. Buy a better car. 3. Find a nice, loving GF. 4. Get top 100 GM and keep it. 5. Be more involved with the Australian Pro League to promote e-sports. 6. Get to my goal of 200 continuous pushups.
1. play more sc2. im always on the computer but rarely laddering consistently. 2. go to school more. my attendance is fucking me over and this is my final year of HS 3. lose the weight(i know this is about as cliche as it gets but for the last month and a half i've been working out every day but still eating unhealthy foods and such, so i need to fix that.) 4. stick to my workout schedule when at all possible 5. be nicer to my mom
i think that if i can achieve 3 and 4 i will easily be able to achieve #2 and #1 more easily. in the last month and a half since i've worked out every day i've been feeling a lot better(going out or just going to school etc) i think the reason i don't show up to school is because of fat and lazy syndrome.
- Get a gf - Get a job in translation and quit current job (a physical one) - Gain more weight (a lot more) - Stop thinking about weird shits - Finish all the books and movies and TV shows that have been piling up since forever - graduate University with an intermediate degree - start talking to people, make some close friends and a best friend - learn to swim - maintain a healthy body and mind ...
1. If you find someone go for her 2. Develop an app and relearn what it's like to have fun programming
The rest are all things I would like to do but don't really care if I can't accomplish.
3. You're never going to be satisified with how much work you can get done. Just keep this feeling going so you can at least try. Even if it's not your best. Your emotions give you motivation 4. Learn how to cook fried rice 5. Get to Masters in Starcraft 2 6. CN tower?
I have a bunch of really important goals I could have, like work out more (at all), study more, get a 4.0 senior (why would I do this when I can program websites with all of that time instead?), etc, but forget that. I want to master English. I want to express my thoughts in a powerful and inspiring way! And because my mind is my blade and books are its whetstone.
3. Bring people into Starcraft II (watching MLG and stuff) 4. Possibly go to MLG if I could make it happen
Edit: 5: Cook more. I cook sometimes and enjoy it, and I have a feeling it would be rewarding to get better and create food I enjoy (I am a super picky eater and often skip meals because there is nothing good enough to eat (or because I am busy programming))
1. Get on a healthier eating / exercise schedule and get down to 175 lb. 2. Get around to doing at least 1 review a month until I have the means to do more 3. Land a paying gig 4. Write more 5. Go to EVO / more events maybe. 6. All 100s for the upcoming semester 7. Reach at least diamond league
The 'read more,' and 'take more chances,' resolutions from above also sound fantastic.
1- Effortlessly maintain mid-masters slot by playing less than 10 games per season. 2- Buy less electronics on a whim, $3500 in 2011 was unreasonable. 3- Get rid of crush on Sarah Chalke, she's not THAT hot! 4- Wear awesome new watch even though it pulls on your overly long arm hair. 5- Become a better poker player 6- Make a genuine attempt at finding a hobby that doesn't cost thousands of dollars 7- Be a better, less boring bf 8- Good grades in classes to get a solid masters degree 9- Lose 15 lbs (not happening)
1. Maintain 4.0 GPA 2. Watch less Starcraft, to make more time for school and playing Starcraft. 3. Go to bed earlier. (sleeping from 2:00 till 5:00 every day is extremely rough) 4. Be more social, talk to people I wouldn't normally talk to. 5. Finally get the courage to ask the girl I like out.
First and foremost 1. Get a Girlfriend for once. I honestly feel that if I can't accomplish this by the end of the world then something is wrong with me. Always end up getting rejected but this year I'm going to make it different. 2. Get accepted to my first choice school(junior in high school). This one has to be my most important, but will be right before the end of the year.
1.- Read more 2.- Spend less time on the CPU 3.- Get accepted into a soccer team 4.- Get a girlfriend 5.- Get out of platinum 6.- Learn another language
lol im so lame.. T_T when i read masters masters masters, i keep thinking of a masters degree. I'm like holy shit, there are so many smart people on TL. Then i'm like... wait a moment... this is an SC2 forum now D:<
but ohhh 1. find a girl 2. start relationship 3. get married ;o
but to be honest, i usually set goals all the time, so i guess just keep working towards what i already set rather than make new ones or official ones for "2012" =|
1. Go to the gym more regularly during the school year 2. Get ~40 on my MCAT (stupid test I hate you I'm going to study the crap out of you - poof goes a good chunk of summer) 3. Stop finding new ways to goof off after I stop playing SC2 during the school term (I played minesweeper this past semester omfg - 1000 games of 99mines in less than a week) 4. Meet new people! 5. Find a superawesome approach to life
1. Without a doubt a 4.0 gpa for the year 2. Reach top 8 rank of masters 3. Move on....cant emphasize this enough 4. Have a better year than the previous 5. Enjoy life
1. Best year from Day #1 2. Get priorities straightened out (School 1st etc.) and follow through 3. Less SC2 and more social life, my last year I burned my bridges to a lot of people 4. Go from AFC ---> PUA this year 5. Masters League
1. get enough points to permanently migrate to australia 2. get a real job 3. quit smoking 4. lose weight to at least under 100kg, currently at 115kg if possible, even down to 90kg or 80kg! in a healthy way of course 5. buy my own car 6. get a real computer (not a shitty craptop) 7. get a marshall tube amp (or equivalent), complete my pedal board (another 3-4 more) and possibly learn to improv if i have time and energy left after teaching kids all day 8. get a cat :3 (requires me to move out of my current place, decision will depend on location of work)
Having more than one or two things on a NYR list is pointless and things like "get in shape" and "study better" are horrible, horrible goals. Goals should be something you can actually work towards i.e. go to the gym 3 times a week and lose 5lbs or study for 2 hours, 5 days a week.
Be able to wake up at 6:30-7:30 and still be productive/alert for the rest of the day Get a job and do well at it Do better at school work Be more social
If I achieve all these things I should be able to complete a longer list of goals throughout this year. These are just the backbone of things that I will do to improve myself.
1 Reaching fitness goals. Rework my 100kg so that there are more muscles in there and little less coca cola. 2 Succesfully write a raycasting engine in Java or C#. 3 With my teams android game, win the sponsorship my school is offering. 4 Masters league 5 Becoma good at starcraft 2(currently diamond) 6 Make money of a game i'vewritten
I for one will find a divorced couple with 2 kids ( it was 2 right ? ), 1 fast Russian that is likely afflicted with the Mafia and has 2 girls and a body guard that know how to pilot industrial sized plane, an inexperienced that is starting a relationship with the divorced women and escape the end of the world ... thats what really matters. That and i have a 700 pages long book on physics from the 80's and a chemistry book about 500 pages long... also quite old but didn't found the date that i found in my dads library, they are really well translated and explain shit quite well compared to school books ( also they are way more in depth and cover way more things ), i only reed about 50 pages this month since i found them but maybe i will finish them next year if i have free time ( aka time when im not to lazy to do it :p ).

Again, those goals are horrible. Do better at school work; define "better". Be more social; define "more". You may as well just say "my new years resolution is to become a billionaire"

more = more than currently / better = better than he's/she's currently doing?
1 Do acid. Start with low dose 2 Do 2ce 3 If I feel happy and ready for it, do DMT. Edit; i dont know if anyone is ready 4 Holy shit Burning man would be awesome. I need so much money though. I am not from the US
1.Get good grades in last year of high school 2. Get a new job as a cook 3. Walk around town more 4. Do more photography 5. Talk to girls/Grow a set of balls
1. Pass exams. 2. Drink less on outings. (1-2 beers/drinks max) 3. Spend less time on the net daily. (1-2 hours max) 4. Hit 40-50 miles per week in running.
Well, according to economy specialists, 2012 will be the darkest year in this regard, much worse than 2011. So i guess i'll try to ride it out and not lose any more financial assets.
Also, leave the shithole called Romania; hopefully i will get accepted into a UK university and study Law there.
Stop with tobacco. Been preparing for over a month, making a list of the disadvantages. The biggest one being that I believe it'll improve my chances to stay together with this girl I've met.
Been trying to get other friends to join in, but most don't want to. My sister *might*... It would be easier to quit if others quit together with me, so I'd know that someone else is suffering the exact same thing I am Makes it a bit more bearable, my last attempt I lasted three weeks doing it alone. Intending to cold turkey the shit out of this now, since I probably won't be getting a better chance in my life.
Tobacco free in 7 hours and 30 minutes. Wish me luck, TL.

Sounds reasonable to me.
My point is, how do you measure any of those "goals". When do you know you are "better". Goals need to be measurable. So it should be something like:
• Apply to IT companies to get a job as a network analyst • Study an extra 5 hours per week and hand in all my assignments on time. • Go out with friends at least once a week.
Every year people make really vague NYR's and they are rarely achieved. Besides, personal improvement should be continual, not once a year.
1. Practice SC2 at least 6h/day when i have school 12h/day on weekends 2. Get to top Masters 3. Eat healthy 4. Stop being lazy about things i NEED to do 5. Be nice to other people
I don't really agree with needing a fictitious reason to start changing my habits, so I usually start these things when I feel that I'm fed up with them. Anyway, these are a few things that I need to get in order that I've either started, or been working on for a while:
1. start writing again, and finish at least a solo work and an orchestra piece this year (already started the first one). 2. maintain my weight after losing ~17lb between Oct-Nov, or, just keep taking ballet classes 4 days a week. 3. staying relentlessly positive about life. I've not done this nearly enough and being intensely critical for all of my life has not helped this be an easy change. 4. get. a. job. 5. stop being so shy around women you like...seriously. I could probably just say, work on being more sociable in general.
1 finish my bachelors degree (at long last) 2 find a nice job 3 figure out which masters degree to get 4 go up at least one league in sc2 (currently gold)
1. Start working out again 2. Take college more seriously 3. Dedicate more time to writing books/manga 4. Hang out with friends more 5. Get a good job 6. Balance all of that
1. run a mile a week (pumping it up to a mile a day after a while. i.e. 1. mile the first week, 2 miles the 3rd week, 3 miles the 5th week, and so on, until i get to 7 miles in a week).
2. read a lot more. Spend a half hour reading a day. 3. play video games less. 4. taking times to enjoy life a little more.
1. Watch halloween again(watched it when i was 3.. i really really dont like michael myers..trauma ftw) 2. diamond before june! 3. stop being so criticizing.
1. Get ripped 2. Get a GF 3. Spend more time with friends and family 4. Be nicer person 5. Race stuff 6. Fight some people .. In no order.. Pref do #1 before #6
I'm not one for dates like this. They are just psychological constructs and really just like any other day. If I want to do something I do it that day. If I want to buy something for someone I buy it and give it that day. etc.

I'm joining your cause.
Problem is that I'll be shitfaced and among smokers. Ah well, maybe I'll finally grow a backbone when drinking. Unlikely tho.
Not a fan of new years resolution but I guess it gives you time to reflect on the past year and it feels 'new'
Here are some of my goals. 1 I already go to the gym but not at a schedule, I want to go to the gym 3 times a week. 2 finish school 3 Do more productive things in less time and plan them out.
1. No SC2 for first three months. (so my shoulder can recover) 2. Become social. 3. Play more piano. 4. Learn how to draw. 5. Fix my religious view in any way. 6. If I start to play SC2 again after that, get to GM. (I was so close ) 7. Start training a martial art. 8. Find out what I want to study and then study it hardcore in advance.
1.) Pay off my undergrad debt in preparation for law school and also save for next year 2.) Stop drinking pop (soda) 3.) Find and join a good recreation hockey league in my new city 4.) Play more Sc2 and get into Diamond 5.) Sleep better
I thought of a few more realistic goals to add to my previously mentioned goals (which were keep up my diet, which I am half way to my goal of 175 pounds already, set an actual schedule for studying for school, and be less shy).
- Read more (an hour a day or so before bed). I used to love reading but now I never do anymore. - Get back into playing guitar and bass (again, an hour or even a half hour per day, just as a break from studying). In high school I practiced a couple hours a day and was fairly competent but I stopped when I started getting overwhelmed with school, and now I just play games instead when I have free time, which I definitely need to cut back on. I'm possibly not even going to play SC for this term, simply because I spend to much time with it. I'll still watch GSL while I do homework but I probably won't play much at all, which goes for most games. - Keep myself more organized for school (a simple fix I already started doing at the end of last term. Either use an organizer book or even a to-do list app on my phone that I can set daily goals for)
1. Work hard and do my best over the next two semesters 2. Continue and finish my knee rehab so I can work out again 3. Continue to improve in sc2 and maybe by the end of the year start playing GM's
1. Get out of this endless cycle of smoking pot 2. Focus on academia when I need to 3. Find a better paying part time job 4. Find a lady 5. Get my priorities in order 6. Play a wider variety of games 7. Work on fitness at least a little
Hopefully this is the year I finally move out of here. 2012 looks good.
1. Get a 4.0 in the second semester 2. Make it to master league 3. Get a real GF 4. Make sure my brother does not fail in life 5. Work out atleast twice in 1 week 6. Prevent some one I know from commiting suicide
1. Not kid myself into thinking I'll ever stick with new years resolutions. 2. Watch as other people fail to keep their new years resolutions. 3. Laugh hysterically as the world around me slowly falls apart. 4. Make lots of money from Diablo 3 RMAH.
1.Being a better man for my GF , I can always get better!! 2.Building Up an Orthoptics and Visual Therapy Project from scratch at my Job (this one is the one I fear the most! but it will be challenging!) 3.not being as lazy as Ive been this year with housework and stuff... not leaving stuff for the day after even if it means not playing SC2 4. getting to Gold again , and then Plat if time permits!!
1. Be less of a misanthrope. 2. Get more sun. 3. Find a hobby that I can go to when I feel like I've wasted a bunch of time on the computer. Maybe working out.
Sleep more and work on my sleeping routines. Work hard in school, get good grades, etc. Being generally more positive and open towards things. Oh, and play more SC of course.
1. Stop procrastinating. 2. Get a girlfriend, who can understand the passion in my pants and my sexy-baller-ness. (wigg- lol) 3. Live life, stop acting wayyyy older than you should.
- Good hygiene (brush twice everyday, shower everyday at least on weekdays, etc.) - Find a new hairstyle and stick with it. - Fix my posture while sitting/standing. I slouch too much. - Gain more weight/get bigger. 6'0 and ~148 lbs. - Spend way less time on the internet. Manage time a lot better. (This one's gonna be the tough one).
I think all of these are manageable, but then again that's what I always say.

Drink (alcohol) as little as possible. Make every post count instead of spamming. Really put the effort. Take all the time I'd be spending on TeamLiquid and Starcraft and devote it to something useful, to fulfill my dreams, breakdance and learning Korean. The get better, I've got to really want it.
1. Get in shape 2. Start getting serious about SC2 3. Get a 4.0 this semester 4. Learn at least how to read/write Hangul by the end of the semester 5. Get an honorable mention/outstanding delegate award in Model UN 6. Learn to cleanly sweep on guitar.
Some of them are hefty goals, but I'm sure if I focus, I can do them all XD.
Kind of generic, I guess, but... my resolution's to be a fucking man. I'm not sure what that means, exactly, but it's probably something like: Quit your bitching, stop trying to find fault in others, just shut the fuck up and do what you need to do. That's what I've been telling myself, anyway.
1. Break 300lbs on bench 2. Hit C in BW (Must do it or its over!) 3. get all 5s on my ap 4. break a 5.0 gpa 5. Learn Korean, Mandarin, or Japanese 6. Enjoy life

1. Understand how magnets work 2. Drink less soda and unhealthy stuff in general. Not overweight or anything but my kinda scared about my health 3. Never play solo queue in League again, makes my stress level raise alot. 4. Relax more 5. Dedicate more time to school.
Think I need to start playing more Basketball to lose some weight that would be nice between working and gaming hard to fit it in. But next year I will play at least 3 nights a week D: WOOT
1. spend more time with family 2. Do regular exercise 3. ladder more efficiently, less raging ideally no rage! 4. Finish things off that i have started, keep things tidier.

Thought I would post about yer ladder fears
Basically, I used to have these too, I mean I would literally put off hitting that 'search' button as much as possible. I'd check peoples streams, I'd look at youtube, I'd fiddle with music I wanted to listen to while playing. I would then decide that music was bad for my concentration and ditch it. By the time I got around to playing, I'd play 1-2 games max then think 'phew, that's enough for today'.
Now I am not saying I am now a 30 game a day Grand Masters guy. I am a very casual Silvery/Gold SC2 player (and STILL an avid watcher). I still now don't play much 1v1, but I do not fear the button. I can analyse someone elses game almost perfectly and tell when they are messing up. This all goes out of the window when its ME playing, I do everything wrong, and my multi tasking is still worse than a double hand amputee with alzheimer's trying to play, but it is now no issue.
Basically, what happened with that anxiety? That 'OMG CANT' HIT SEARCH!!!' ?
I got over the fact that I thought ladder was something more than it is. It is nothing more than a brief fling with that glasses wearing spotty chick with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer fixation (well, maybe that one is just me, but hopefully you get the point). It is practice, nothing more. If it is horrible, you get over it, if it is great then WOAH BUDDY!
Ladder taken seriously, is a nightmare. Ladder taken lightly, is a dream.

1. Qualify for my first tournament. 2. Start working out 30 mins a day. 3. Lose some weight (how original). 4. Reach Grandmaster. 5. Less bitching around when playing sc2 ^^.
1. Trust others less 2. Be Honest with myself 3. Be Honest with others 4. Follow a workout plan 5. Spend my time following my passions, instead of waiting for them
Happy New Year's All, gonna say things that are actually achievable this year
1) Follow my dreams 2) Gain 20 Pounds 3) Get more sleep :D 4) O yeah, stop caring so much about sc2, your not gonna be a progamer so why care? Also watch less streams. A hobby doesn't need to soak up so much time. 5) Fluent in Mandarin
1. Get a 2 year (or more) job contract in a developed country. 2. Start writing my PhD thesis. 3. Figure out a way to secure some job in a developed country after a postdoctoral period.
1. Lose the beer gut I've been developing this year. My resolution for last year was to gain weight because I was pretty scrawny, and I did, but most of it went to my gut
2. Graduate and get a full-time job I enjoy (i.e. do good in my last semester). This is in my line of sight, so something is going to have to go terribly wrong to disrupt this.
3. Save up money so I can travel to Germany next year. A whole bunch of my family wants to go to Germany and we're going to go together, so I've got to have enough saved up.
4. Start dating again. I've pretty much dedicated all my time to school + work + SC. With school out of the way soon and some money coming in I'd like to break this big ass streak of being single.
1) Reach number 1 on the EU GM server. I am working really hard at the moment, playing, studying, and just thinking about the game all the time. 2) Develop my understanding of the Korean language. 3) Write books that I've been meaning to.
1. I'm slightly out of shape, so I'm already signed up on a hardcore gym program with a friend. Lots of exercise and a strict diet regime. I'm getting into really good shape and maintaining it.
2. Learn to drive once I'm legally allowed. (About mid-year). I've been unable to learn due to epilepsy. (21 years old now)
3. Apply for the police force once the 2 above are met. To follow in the footsteps of my Grand-dad. This has also been delayed due to epilepsy.
Joining the Police is my life goal and for the first time since I was of legal age, my epilepsy is clear and the law will allow me to drive and apply this year. This is the year of my life, I wish everyone else success and the same determination I have in attaining their goals.
1. Get priorities straight, SCII has to come second, so browsing TL and reddit will not happen anymore, but I still will allow about an hour for managing team air. 2. Pick back up the piano, damn I was good at it before I quit. 3. Get social, ask the girl out that I don't have the courage to do. 4. Get un-depressed 5. Put on 15 pounds of muscle.
Pretty hefty goals, but lets do this. To a better 2012!
1. Be more efficient at procrastinating (i.e. doing more than one thing at the time while procrastinating). 2. Procrastinate less while procrastinating (e.g. don't go on facebook if my procrastination involved only going on TL) 3. Improve my study schedule which was already pretty decent.
1. Hit Masters league on SEA and NA for SC2 as Zerg. 2. Get my random account to Platinum 3. Release some mobile apps/games for Android and iOS 4. Get serious about University and stop being so lazy about it 5. Start gym 6. Seize any extra curricular opportunities I can to gain experience
lol ya'll talk about Resolutions like shit is going to be resolved, well it's not unless you man up and take responsibilities for your actions and make good on your promises. Don't be a fool like a lot of ppl and say you're going to lose weight but I'd give credit only to those who put in any effort to their "Resolutions".
Two goals for myself in this really important year:
1) Leave no regrets. Put priorities on my studies so I don't look back later and wish I had done it differently. 2) Be more genuine and honest with myself and to others. Treat everyone equally without judging them beforehand.
As far as I'm concerned, most resolutions don't even last the week. My friend wanted to not drink for a least a month, too bad his birthday is January 13th!
1. get gm 2. finally get together with my best female friend and not so secret love(couldnt remember a better expression for that in english ) 3. take school more seriously 4. not consume more alcohol than last year
1. Amp up my studies. 2. Start a business (which works well with 1st) 3. Get more stable sleep schedule without increasing hours slept 4. Quit smoking (as I am moving away from "bad influence") 5. Care less about others and start paying attention to my self. (Sounds bad but when it's something you've done for 10years in the row it is more burden than anything)
1. Getting better studying habits for school (I can do it! :D) 2. Start working out - getting into shape 3. Get a gf(!) 4. Find more time for SC2, get into masters, atleast top diamond. (I'm top platinum now)
I have the usual stuff stop being lazy and do things mostly and also convince all the pc fps people i know that halo (for a consol fps) is great i saw this today and it just reminded me that halo gets a lot shit it doesn't deserve i know people like what they like and hate what they hate but hating something you don't know is kinda stupid imo.
1) Work harder at this college that I'm paying big bucks for 2) Manage my rage that seems to permeate my interactions with everything (relationships, gaming, politics) 3) Have more fun and enjoy this short life
1. Fitness goals, specifically cutting down on my 3 mile time 2. 4.0 GPA semester 3. get that promotion at work 4. get into diamond league (baby steps yo) 5. actually create a reservoir in my savings account instead of going paycheck to paycheck 6. Get into Code S

1. wanna get ALOT better in sc. 2. improve my flirt skills. 3. more streaming 4. finish my work and do a job I like. 5. never QQ`in again about imbalance.
1. Lift more weights. 2. Start up MMA with a local training gym. 3. Get further in my career. 4. Quit my second job so I can spend more time with my family (coincides with 3.).
1. Working harder on my job so I can be proud of what I do and my results; 2. Be more positive, about everything; 3. Start caring about my health; 4. Keep loving my friends and be kinder to them; 5. Try to look for a girlfriend. Not sure about this one.
Even if point 1 is what by far I care the most about I feel point 2 and 3 are necessary to achieve it. I'm happy about my friends, losing the person I considered my best friend recently made me more aware of the other friends I get along with and of all the people I can have a good time with. I will try very hard to strenghten my friendships further and make the new ones blossom as beautifully as I can. I don't know about point 5, it's a huge investment of time into something that usually doesn't give as much long term return. I'd rather focus on working but being open to finding the right person, not just for a shallow relationship, could turn out positively.
I think 2012 is going to be a great year for me, I hope many others feel the same about themselves.
I'm terrible at keeping resolutions so I've decided to do one I think i can actually keep.
I'm on a year off this year before I go to university. I took it because I had a lot of personal issues and just didn't feel ready to go to university yet, or like I would get the most out of it now. I'd like to think I've mostly conquered these problems more, but seeing my friends come back for Christmas (or not seeing them enough rather) has made me realise that I in fact hate my job (waiter), I like the people I work with and know I probably won't find a better place to be a waiter. Its just not something that comes naturally to me, the hours are shit, I get paid hourly so have to come in when I'm sick and I get ill because other people come in when they're sick and I got 5 days off for Christmas (including the 2 I would have got anyway).
I just know its not the job for me, I can't carry 19 plates, I think the whole bottle service 'ritual' is bullshit and I feel like I'm getting dumber the longer I keep doing this. And the very worst thing is that I'm basically at the bottom. I know I'm young so that's pretty usual, and its not like people constantly make it known to me, but there's the constant idea that I'm below basically almost everyone and I hate that so much.
So my new years resolution is to find a better job for the next half a year.

I agree. Instead of talking about doing stuff, just, you know, do it! Less talking, more action! There's no use in waiting for magical dates. If you want to change a negative attitude, just do so here and now!

Improve my self confidence even more. (Results are amazing!) 4. Go to the gym regularly starting this month. 5. Start a "new" (better) relationship with my girlfriend. (Already started) 6. And more confidence.
Everything is going to be excellent this year, be it fails or wins!
Since I finally got my head together last year, and had a small sneak peek of what life can be when not being a mental trainwreck all the time, I will use this newfound potential in me to: 1. get stuff done, finally!
Thats why I never make new years resolutions anymore... This year I said ill play at least 10 games a day (sc2) and pracitse a bit to get to high masters on EU...
2 january my power supply on pc went dead, warranty take 3-4 weeks and my backup pc cannot handle sc2 enough to play multi, and we all know this game reward consistant practice and hard work, after month break ill play on gold level Time to quit sc2 and start doing something more usefull.
-practice more starcraft -quit my job to play more starcraft(doing this in about 1 hour when my boss returns from lunch) -Never work in an office ever, ever again -more exercise -Stop thinking I can practice starcraft high, just doesn't work for me at all. - Cut back on my laziness and improve my positivity. -And most important of all, continue down my own path in life and keep making my choices towards happiness. And remember that being happy is more important than anything else.
