Can't wait for Super Mario 64, Zelda OoT, and Super Meat Boy. It would be awesome if Cosmo could beat the world record he set for OoT several months ago. Last marathon I saw Cosmo in (think it was the Japan relief one) he played it safe and got a bottle (I think) so he may take a slightly different route than he would for a record attempt. Not sure how much the route has changed since I last saw a current run, though. One video I saw he picked up heart containers after each boss... I'm guessing it was a variation on the bottle safety net but I'm not sure why he did it in that particular run.
His current route picks up all the hearts except fire temple so he can skip the goron tunic (does fire temple boss under the heat timer). He also has re-set his world record a couple of times in the last month, down to 2:31:45 in a couple of steps, from 2:34:19 that he got during his marathon.
Pretty crazy to watch some of the tricks he pulls off throughout.

too bad theres no donkey 1, 2, 3. those are great games to do speed runs of and really fun to watch imo. even so, i'll be tuning in, so many nostalgic games in there.

This has been a lot of fun so far. Definitely going to try to donate for ESPORTS if I can!

The girl who normally runs those games couldn't make it this year. Her attendance would have also potentially caused a bidding war between FF7 and FFX, which would have probably been amazing.

6 people already donated for ESPORTS! We need quite more to deal with Poxnor
Currently at work, so I can't watch... on the other hand not much interesting to see ... on the third hand it is always fun to see games I don't even know!
@donkey: Well, Essentia isn't the only one that could do the Donkey runs... but I miss her more for the RPG than these platformers

If anyone heard Jordan Simmonds donation to name Tifa Esports then, you have me to thank ^_^

I've been into speedrunning for some years now, and I always really enjoy watching these guys' charity streams. It's a bit unfortunate that most of the older games get run so fast, while most of the games I don't care about (re: JRPGs) last for sooo long.
But yeah, speeddemos is awesome, and so is everyone running!

This RE4 speedrun is hilarious. Great commentary.

Awesome stuff just donated looking forward to the Mario stuff on Sunday

Seem so awesome Nice to see Tifa leeding the fray as well

Apparently some guy called Poxnor is leading the naming Tifa front..
And he's never been outbid in an SDA marathon....
He just told me he's donated over $2000 and it was confirmed... O.O

To beat Poxnor, you gotta go with a fake All-in into an expansion, then surprise him and overwhelm him with an army twice as Large.
Or just donate as much as you can. I tried to beat him at JRDQ when he announced he didn't have the money he had at other runs, that... still failed.

He just told me he's donated over $2000 and it was confirmed... O.O I was on the stream, when he donated. And if I remember correctly, he said (comment) something about getting outbid last year so he bid 2k to do the trick ... Don't know if I'm wrong, but well, maybe we can stop him again Maybe if we will get close he will add another buck or 1k or so, but at least we helped preventing cancer!

2kish viewers during off hours (for a lot of the audience) during the middle of the week isn't terrible, and ~15k$ in ~15 hours is pretty amazing.
Has been a lot of fun so far, and promises to get better as the hours/days go on.

can someone explain me how that mew trick worked?

What a great event! Hopefully I'll have some time set aside to tune in.

QUICK QUESTION:
are you guys gonna accept visitors? I live in the DC area and I think it'd be awesome if some TL nerds got together and dropped in for a few hours

The whole 'knifing the tyrant' conversation had me rolling...only partially due to sleep deprivation.
