It reminds me of those commercials where the guy tries to make you feel sad/guilty for not giving their organization money to support children in third world country's. Basically my opinion on the matter. This "you're hurting e-sports" thing is annoying as fuck.

As for the ads on TL goes, I'm not sure how much I support them, since I never click on the ads. I do like how the ads doesn't kill the layout of the rest of the site though.

+ Show Spoiler + if ads were high enough on the site that I would see them instantly when I log on I'd consider turning it on.

Except, by participating in this forum, which has costs to run, you are directly benefiting from its use. And letting the ad exist instead of blocking it helps the forum that you are enjoying exist. That baby in a third world country isn't giving you any sort of benefit, if you want to be callous about it. It's kind of like pirating stuff actually, since a lot of that is ad-supported as well. If you do not watch it live, but download it, you are actively harming the chances your show will have to be renewed. Well some shows anyway, others are either going to live either way, or pirating will help. In this case, adblocking teamliquid has no benefit to the site, it is just your personal benefit. It's pretty selfish of you "I hate the esports card"-people to block the ads for a petty reason like that. None of the ads I have seen have an audio element to them, which means they are not that distracting. It's such a small thing to contribute to something you participate in, which means your active desire to harm the site makes you petty and selfish. TL;DR: Your logic sucks.

(Nearly the) Same here. Disabling Adblock doesn't make any difference. There are still no ads because of NoScript. It provides a high amount of additional security and privacy while browsing as scripts and certain plugins are disabled by default. And these are the main routes for exploits. Having NoScript simply shuts this door for them. Whitelisting TL wouldn't make any difference as the ads aren't from TL. NoScript shows google-analystics, googleapis, googlesyndication and quantserve who want to run scripts on my computer. There might be more as soon as you allow those sites to run scripts, which isn't recommended as the whitelist works globally. Visiting other sites would have the same servers across the internet allowed to run scripts. As some of you might not know: While you visit one website/webserver it most likely connects to many other servers to run scripts from them or to track your usage of the web. Sometimes (depending on the website) there are more than 10 other companies that get information about your visit on a website.
