You don't know where ANY of your patronage is going. Fail logic is fail. You have no idea how the company who gives you internet pays its employees, or how those employees use their money. It is very likely that you've played a small part in buying someone a prostitute throughout your lifetime. I use adblock, but these half-assed answers annoy me. Like I said before, I simple find some of the adds offensive and obtrusive to my personal taste, and if there wasn't adblock I would not be here. It's nothing serious or principled, because I think that this staff deserves to be compensated, I just disdain adds to the point of irrationality. Its unfortunate but true. | ||

I cant stand adverts. They take up space, and i have yet to see a single advert that has made me buy anything. If i want a new <insert Product>, i don't buy one because of an advert, i also don't choose the make because of an advert. I go to google and search for <insert product>. if i find one that has the features i want i will search for reviews by people who have already bought one. If the reviews are good i will search for the best deal and if i can afford it, if i can then i buy it. Its called Research. Adverts dont come into it at all. If I disabled adblock, TeamLiquid.net will make more money, maybe increase number / size of advert. In turn the advertising company will make more money and will be able to put out more adverts. The company who's product was advertised will have spent money on an advert which i viewed and they will not make money from it. If the company instead made their product much better than the competitions and at a competitive price then i would likely purchase it after i did my research (assuming i needed on in the first place) As for TL, the TL store currently has 3 products in it. If they increased the number of products they may sell more. I don't want a t-shit, i would love a Mug though. At work I'm currently drinking out of a rock physics mug that changes colour when it gets hot. I'd happily spend 10 quid on a mug with the TL Zebra on it. Everyone should block as many ads as possible. Companies will spend less on ads (since they wouldnt work) and spend more on improving their products so that they stand above the competitions. | ||
