Bah, as long as they're allowed to protest elsewhere I'm cool with the police getting rid of a bunch of ninnies off property and enforcing rules.

Can't actually tell what's going on from grainy streams but if they are arresting people in Boston and the protesters were not breaking the law (loose interpretations of pointless laws don't count, I mean attacking people etc.) Then more shit needs to happen in Boston. That's unacceptable.

yeah, what do laws besides murder and assault mean anyways..

You haven't been reading my posts if you think I'm a major supporter of OWS or anything like that. I hardly know what they stand for. The officer at the beginning of that video above said,"Trespassing and unlawful assembly." That could mean all sorts of things, the devil is in the details. I meant arresting them for something like, "that dude is wearing pink, we found an old law that's never been officially revoked that says guys can't wear pink. We have to arrest all of you now." Unlike most of the people in here I haven't either: jumped to a conclusion of which side I'm on, or invested the time to intelligently decide which side I support. Considering this most recent event happened within the last half hour I certainly don't have an educated opinion on it yet.

I rather thank the people who actually produce something or provide a service in an economy instead of the people who just trade derivative forms of money as a way of obtaining more money, ie the definition of greed.

If they're just "trading derivative forms of money," then what's the big deal? I mean it's not like they produce a good or service of value, how can they even EVER effect the whole wide economy then? they're so damn useless those stock brokers.

Do you have a retirement account? Do you like the fact that the return is fairly consistent compared to the market as a whole? Thank derivatives and the people who trade them then.

The Patriot Act gives the government the right to arrest people who might be committing acts of terrorism. It is named after our patriots. Patriots who committed acts against the United Kingdom that would be considered terrorism in order to gain us our freedom. The 2nd amendment is pointless today. We can bear arms, but we cannot rise up against our government if we the people consider it to be a tyranny because to do so would constitute what could be considered an act of terrorism. The Patriot Act has stripped us our liberty. The patriots who suffered hardships and many who gave their lives for our country have nothing to do with the Patriot Act. It is a disgrace to the name Patriot.

(5) the term "domestic terrorism" means activities that -

(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation
of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;
(B) appear to be intended -
(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population;
(ii) to influence the policy of a government by
intimidation or coercion; or
(iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass
destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and

(C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of
the United States.

"The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group or by any other controlling private power."

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

This is just getting bigger by the days, and spreading across multiple states/countries now. I hope it doesn't fade out now, especially seeing the winter and harsh cold about to come in.

Oh my. Are the various law enforcement agencies across the country starting to use Social Networking to organize ? Now that would be ironic.

I'm assuming that local laws are in place placing hours of restriction on those places they are arresting people. NYC is a problem because the charter deems it open 24/7 and the sanitation workers can't get in. I guess other parks around the country don't have that problem.

Any I'm fairly confident that any beatings going on are a direct result of physical non-compliance with law enforcement. So, let's not get our panties in a bunch about police brutality. And if the shit hits the fan tomorrow, I guess that's better than that hippie shitting on the patrol car.

you know If you look at it competly objectively. Camping out on public property isn't that smart of an idea. I mean theres already laws in place and you'll be treated just like anyone else who would do the same. Nazi support rallies have to be protected but they follow all the laws set in front of them pretty well.
