I like to think that good music tells a story. This song is emotionally provocative, complexly arranged, and short enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome.

i never thought an instrumental could get my adrenaline pumped so much, and make me feel like doing something productive.. or be so motivational (if you don't get the feeling, try listening to it in a car with a good system while you're driving)

Hell, you know what, anything off of Kid A. That album is absolutely amazing, probably the best out of Radiohead. (Yeah, I know, I didn't like OKC as much as everybody seems to give it acclamation for.) + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler + Jakob are awesome too.

While the second is not that exciting, the third one is just awesome. + Show Spoiler + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDNsX4DtzZs I'll stick to the classics for my own recommendation: PIECE: Toccata in F major BWV 540 COMPOSER: Johann Sebastian Bach ARTIST: Helmut Walcha is my favourite so far + Show Spoiler + EXPLANATION: + Show Spoiler + Toccatas tend to be show-off pieces, both for the skill of an organist and for the capabilities of his instrument. While other Bach compositions can be quite complex, his toccatas are very accessible even if you are not used to listening to baroque music. This particular work is less known than Bach's famous Toccata and Fuge in D minor BWV 565. Give it some time at the beginning, it starts off rather slowly (including a lengthy pedal solo) before building up to a grandiose finale. If you are very impatient, skip forward to the last two minutes of the recording. Don't forget to crank up the volume, this needs some loudness.

ARTIST: Emiko Shiratori + Show Spoiler + EXPLANATION: Despite being one of the first songs that I truly enjoyed over 10 years ago, it still remains one of my favorite songs of all time. This song taught me the beauty and gentleness that music can have. While the lyrics are written with a lover in mind, it can certainly be extrapolated to the idea of never forgetting past friendships while maintaining a hopeful look into the future. It's certainly a song I always listen to to remind myself that memories and bonds are not easily broken by distance or time. btw, I noticed To Zanarkand is on the list. Nobuo Uematsu is the composer of that song. No artist since no lyrics though.
